If what I’ve heard about Quebec and this law are true, it is 100% about getting immigrants to not even consider moving there.  They are pretty much setting up the perfect “We don’t want immigrants but we want them to leave of their own volition” law.

This is what’s so wild to me...it’s all fake money. And not just fake money, but much faker money than even the stock market represents - which itself fake money. Further, the value of those accounts is MUCH less as some sort of tangible, transferrable asset and much more as “I’m saving time/energy/frustration from having to do this myself.” Plus these virtual item economies tank quickly after hype winds down over a release, with few rare exceptions.
