Seems to be pretty standard for mobile games developed in Japan.

Yup. Khara and Trigger are where all the talent went. Gainax is just a zombie studio at this point, banking on a name filled with nostalgia.

That’s not even Gainax anymore. Anno’s Studio Khara owns all the right to Evangelion, and is making the movies.

Even in the ‘90s, anime conventions were a totally different beast than they are today. Since they were relatively obscure, you only heard of them through friends and specialty shops. People drove from half a continent away to attend something with maybe 200 attendees. It was an underground scene, still sort of

1) They released Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. Those two have as different an architecture a you can get. (PowerPC vs ARM.)

Well, that pretty much sums up my fears for the game.

Wow. I’d call Trump a worthless human being, but that’s unfair to human beings.

I wish it wasn’t so fussy about me playing while riding my bike.

Damn, why don’t they let us pay like that in Canada? All our debit and credit cards have had tap-to-pay for years now, and that’s way more secure than entering in a string of numbers. Now that we have stuff like Apple Pay there’s no excuse.

I know those designs are a tribute to the 8 and 16-bit FF sprites I loved and grew up with, but they’re still unforgivably similar to those wretched Funko Pop! things. I’m staying a mile away from this game.

Grow. The fuck. Up.

Could be the reason it got so hot for you is that when it’s plugged in and you’re not using it iOS 10 analyzes all your photos for faces and objects and stuff. It only needs to do it once, then it’s fine.

Same. I worked in a game store when I was a teen in the ‘90s, and ran a semi-successful website after that, but I saw the toxicity drifting about a decade ago and bailed from the gaming “community”.

I love Belle & Sebastian. I saw them play this one live.

I tried out a demo of it last year. I was impressed.

“Once I heard the sound I knew it was a total piece of crap.”

IIRC, they were upset about being banned from a Pokémon forum. Or someone said something there that offended them. The people they were upset with were going to be at the tournament.

This isn’t a new phenomenon. Gathering of Developers rented out the empty lot directly across the street from E3 for a couple of years in a row, back around ‘99, ‘00. On year it was literally trailer park themed, complete with a midget sporting a mullet.

“Capcom still works like they are in a pre-internet era, it’s truly mind boggling.”

Way back in the early ‘90s I traveled to the city next to mine to give one of those Virtuality machines a try. I was super-stoked.
