Totally agree. I have high hopes for 3 based on what we’ve seen so far. Character designs seem a little bit more dialed back, haven’t seen any fan service in the trailers so far... in general everything seems a bit more restrained and thoughtful than it was in 2.

XC2 has my go-to example of a “fatal flaw”, and it’s the horrible gacha system for the “blades”. I adored XC1 (apart from the ending...), but couldn’t finish XC2 because of how much I hated the way that system worked--I had plenty of other gripes, but that was the one that really sealed the deal.

Obviously I don’t know about his private life, but this guy has been publicly kind of a prime example of “using your privilege for good” over the past few years, often putting himself in the line of fire to stand up for marginalized game devs. I mean he literally got fired from Riot for breaking their “social media

“still saying” get out of here with your obviously bad faith nonsense. Just because someone didn’t remember a blog post from 15 years ago enough to delete it is nowhere near the realm of “still saying” it, and you trying to imply that it is everywhere in the comments makes it extremely clear to me that you are exactly

Real “everything about this sucks” situation. Don’t get me wrong, those things he said on his blog were terrible, but...

“honestly the biggest reason we didn’t do a kickstarter is we didn’t want to deal with entitled baby gamers holding even more power over us.”

damn you’re a huge piece of shit, huh? Just up in the comments here trying to equate devs being snarky and speaking candidly and accurately about how shitty gamers are with them getting insane amounts of vicious harassment. You are the problem. You are why the devs acted the way they did, and you deserve it.

This is some Jessica Price, bad-faith misogynistic bullshit all over again, and it’s no surprise that reddit is behind the charge. People sure do love finding reasons to be Mad at Women Online!!

You’d think that with a setup like that, the difference between the old and new art would be more... stark? But it honestly just felt like some pretty standard polish passes were done on it. Weird choice.

My most controversial game opinion has always been that Warframe would be a better game if they slowed everything down to 50% of its current speed, so this bodes pretty well for me.

The only thing that’s keeping me from loving it is that I can’t pick at least one character to unlock early on. I looked it up and the character I want to play through the mode with (Corrin) is apparently a pretty late unlock. So I can’t use my main for the majority of the mode, which just... feels bad.

For real!

You sound like a person with a literal child’s understanding of sexism and the world at large. Congrats on being proud of your inability to understand nuance, I guess?

Extremely large disagree, but to each their own I guess

Wildstar had probably *the* best housing system of any MMO I’ve ever played. Such a shame that it’s going away. Hopefully someone will be able to salvage some of the work they did.

congratulations on having a literal child’s understanding of what sexism means. “If someone doesn’t say “Hi, I’m a sexist, here I am doing a sexist thing with my sexism”, it’s not sexist!!” - you, probably6

Xenoblade 2, unlike the first, unfortunately has some baffling design decisions that absolutely do not respect your time. I loved the first, but dropped the second after obtaining a new character and having to spend two hours opening gacha bullshit to make him actually usable. I didn’t get anything good, so he wasn’t

I think as long as Octopath doesn’t include a pointless gatcha system for obtaining crucial character customization items that then can’t be traded between characters unless you have an extremely rare and finite item, and the game doesn’t even tell you its finite so you use them all on stupid shit, then it’s probably

Is there any way to watch the whole thing after the fact? I missed the live event.

2018, wherein calling someone out for extremely lazy, racist humor is labeled a “crusade”. Unbelievable.
