I wear dresses, leggings, and flats because they are easier to put on. A couple of months ago my coworker asked if I constantly wore dresses as a “religious thing” which I found odd because the dresses I wear aren’t very conservative. im relatively tall and my friends are ridiculously short, i never worked through getting accustomed to heels as a teen/young adult so now I’m just useless in them. plus i like comfort.

Other girls we knew let their boyfriends open car doors, pay for things. They liked to feel safe. We, on the other hand, liked to fuck with men, and also with each other, heckling each other’s boyfriends and thwarting each other’s attempts at romance for kicks.

There can be a fine line between being challenging and just being an asshole. This veered into the latter territory (and I don’t even mean the boner poke, which was just insecure and weird).

It might also have been a victim who he is friends with who didn't want he whole gossip and scrutiny.

I don’t think anybody’s saying it’s okay because everybody does it. I think people are wondering why Beyonce doing it is such a bigger deal. To which you can reply that she calls herself a feminist, so she has invited her fans and critics alike to hold her to a higher standard.

ok, but like you can’t join a global initiative to help the lives of women and girls and then turn around and oppress those same women and girls, so you can make money for yourself. That’s not how this works.

That is true. But it’s not like women are looking up to Nike as some kind of great feminist icon to be respected.

This is a potentially enormous breakthrough for people who want to be good parents, but still spend most of the day in the pub.
