I agree with everything except the full tank of gas thing. Seems like more of a waste having to go to the gas station to get $20 bucks in 3 times a week instead of filling it once.

Best thing I did was add weather stripping around the doors, and silicone around the windows. It saved a bit of cash, but the big win in doing this is that the loud furnace didn't run as often. Landlord didn't notice or even care.
