Please stop reporting that she is vegetative! That implies she did not know what was happening to her and could not feel pain. She is a quadriplegic with severe brain damage but can move her head and respond to voices. This is an important difference to understanding her victimization.

I thought an earlier discussion of this case included a statement from the victim’s family that she is not in a vegetative state (nor unconscious) but was suffering from significant developmental/intellectual delays.
