This is true. I said it then and still believe it: our win felt like a last meal.

I remember well the way I handled almost-successful-seasons-blown-in-the-last-month in the past: I will be depressed and in disbelief for about a month, almost entirely ignoring the playoffs except to cheer against any of Cubdom’s official enemies. Also I’ll use any small Bears’ successes to distract me. By around

I liked it better when this was about weird frozen feet and illegal helmets and shitting on the Steelers. AB should be out of the league.

I was going to say I’d take Cousins over Trubisky, but what is the point. Everything sucks.

This is when we pick sides, right?

Well, they’re not cursed enough.

“Yes, he walked by and saw his secretary stabbing a boy in the heart, then watched as she slit his throat and bathed in the child’s blood, finally chanting in an unknown language while raising the lifeless corpse in her arms. But what is he, some kind of legal expert? Is he the Attorney General? He certainly isn’t an

Or the Very Serious Debate about who should be drafted first and who second between the two can’t miss QBs of 1998: Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf.

If we can just get all of our receivers to be standing still and wide open and give him loads of time to notice how open they are, then Trubisky has a shot at greatness.

I don’t man, they are much worse than I thought they were. Trubisky is definitely actively worse than last year.

I completely agree. I do this at work. I see some of coworkers only rarely, and a lot of them assume that I am like them politically (probably because I am a straight, white, married man with kids). If I can carefully avoid attaching any label to myself, I can sometimes (at least temporarily) flip an opinion one of

I agree with you, and I do sometimes catch myself thinking in only those terms. But how often does the average Trump supporter correct themselves from making this mistake? The answer for the vast, vast majority is never.

This is excellent.

That’s because it isn’t about logic. It’s tribal, and you and I are not in their tribe. Tribe comes first, then logic is used to justify its positions, not the other way around.

And so it begins. This is the beginning of the drumbeat. They are going to do everything they can to paint the Democratic nominee as an extremist. They are going to froth at the mouth and scream and yell and fearmonger over and over again in every way and in every media outlet they can for the next 12 months.

Yeah, but they only won because of the Homer Hanky:

*weeping quietly* Still better than the Cubs.

Make your business a gas station?

I think they are worried because Warren would be harder to attack than Sanders. Sanders is a self-proclaimed socialist, and they know all they need to do is use that word, over and over again, and they’ll win. Stupid shallow labels actual work for a good portion of the electorate. Warren, very smartly, has early on
