So is this what pedestrian safety standards are for? Huge air gap up front so you can scoop up wild animals like a pillow, instead of just making them go splat like in the old days.

While I understand low millage is desirable, this is practically nothing. $45k on a car in the mid 90s to just park it? I don’t get it. Almost worse than the guy who parked a 240SX for 20 years.
Nissan is selling the Patrol in the U.S. now, as the Armada. Also the Infiniti QX80 is the same truck with different headlights.
Hold on guys, I just realized what’s really going on here: he’s trying to appease his wife.
I had one of those with the 4.3L V6. It was an awesome little truck. I kinda miss it now.
$12.5k actually seems like a reasonable price for what the 97-98 “kouki” models are going for these days. $100k and that guy is just insane.
The whole display model story seems really weird considering this is a base model car. The top trim SE model would have made for a better display.
Basically, he realized he wouldn’t be able to avoid the collision and moved to minimize harm to both of them. It’s actually safer it hit something square on since an off-set crash is actually the most deadly. A square crash allows maximum use of the vehicle’s crumple zones. That said, speed is obviously a factor…
I hope they find a way to put that on a modern car. Bring back hood adornments!
Every time I’ve visited that area, I do a few dragon runs really early before the bikes wake up. Like just after the sun comes up until about 8:30. After 9, the tourist cruises seem to start picking up traffic. I’ll actually spend the rest of the morning on many of those other roads. By then my wife and kids are…
The later model Nissan Silvia had a rear wiper option in Japan also, but the U.S. equivalent 240SX didn’t have the option. Only the hatchback 240SX had a rear wiper. Must be regional preferences.
My dad has an 03 Z06 in yellow. Takes it out every now and then, and when he and my mom go out on dates. My daughter loves getting rides. He had a 93 previously. Wonder if he’ll get a 2013 model?
I diod see that coming. Hopefully they can rectify the current situation somehow.
He had pretty good reflexes, considering a flying car isn’t a scenario you typically consider when driving defensively.
I’m afraid to visit that website. Not sure if it will leave me with rigamortis.
For me at least, this car was this spiritual successor to the Nissan Silvia. Small, RWD, coupe with good performance. The last 2002 Silvia had a 250HP turbo option. The 1992 Silvia had 205 HP, so a 200 HP engine being the only option in 2012 was really a let down.
Not the legal team. MPG ratings use the most aggressive setting, UNLESS the car defaults to something every startup. So that’s why everything defaults to ECO mode, so the car can have a better MPG/emissions rating on the window sticker.
Fuel efficiency ratings. These “sport” settings usually don’t get the best MPG, so manufacturers use the eco mode as the “default” setting so that the rating on the window sticker is higher. If the car stays is whatever setting the driver left it (ie, it doesn’t have a default), then the EPA will use the most…
