Was Ivanof the Superior? I don't think they called him that directly, did they? I got the impression that both Ivanof and Nadeer are big players both working under the Superior, who I now wouldn't be surprised to learn is Fitz's dad. I could be misreading it, though.

I think it's kind of inherent to the premise. You set out to make a show where someone is correcting misconceptions, that character is going to come across as irritating no matter what you do, so might as well lean into it and let other characters in the show say what the audience will be thinking

The show definitely acknowledges how annoying this would be in real life, and plays it for laughs. It works pretty well.

It does become a bit of a running gag

The picture is funny if you've seen the show ("Adam is very annoying" is a key part of the show's premise), but I do see how the photo would discourage you from watching if you haven't seen it yet.

Yeah, Lebowski is quirky, but pretty traditional structure-wise.

Yeah, probably not the same mirror dimension, but definitely the same dimensional rules

Yeah, the dimension portal was definitely a visual nod to Dr Strange, even if they would have been doing this story anyway. Seems like the right way to handle the 'crossover,' especially given that the Dr. Strange movie timeline is a bit too ambiguous to have a 'hey this just happened on the news' moment.

Good points, though I wonder if they're slightly addressed by the fact that one of the reasons that the stranger Tarantino and Coen works are respected and intriguing is because they are not "recognizable as stories," because they don't follow this sort of circle. Subverting expectations and all that.

I need a Christmas version of the theme song to go on my annual mix-tape. This isn't quite it, sadly.

Yeah. I acknowledge the first one as the highest-quality film, by a mile, but BTTF2 is my personal favorite because it's such an elaborate time-travel adventure. Revisiting the timeframe of the first movie is a genius twist

I liked him a lot on Spin City back in the day too
His recent sitcom attempt didn't have much of a hook so I couldn't get into it

My random headcanon: After George McFly punches Biff, he becomes more popular and confident (we see this when Marty comes home at the end of the first movie).

Yeah, your point was totally valid, and I didn't mean to downplay that.

I'm not always optimistic about that sort of thing. The MCU just grabs random names from the comics for Shield agents sometimes, to the point where they've accidentally used the same name twice

I understand how the schedules prevent real cast interactions. I just wish they'd occasionally plant things in the movies with the specific intention of building up to them in the show. The movies don't know what the show's going to do, but the show knows what the movies will do before the audience does, so they could…

I briefly had the same thought (that poverty and world hunger are tied to waste and unequal distribution, rather than limits of production) but it's not especially unrealistic or out of character for a scientist to have that optimistic reaction to such a game-changing development.

My plan is to wait 5 years after people forget about this joke, then show up in that costume

I didn't mean that was literally the only information we got about Coulson, but thank you for the added detail, I didn't remember all of that. I agree that Coulson's nature is to treat the main Shield crew as a family, and it makes sense that he's filling a gap that way.

Funny, looked like Hanks in the thumbnail but can tell it's Murray in the full image.
