The appetite for hype is so fucking toxic.
The appetite for hype is so fucking toxic.
If they live in Japan, they have universal healthcare. Questions like “do you pay for your healthcare or does your employer” only really make sense in the US.
Typical people who tie too much of their identity to media. You tell them you don’t like that media, and they hear “I don’t like your identity.”
The GOP has switched from an appeal to more voters strategy, to a turn out the vote strategy. Their plan is to turn out 100% of their voters while doing everything possible to reduce votes on the other side by making it harder to vote, and just making people not want to vote by making the entire thing beyond toxic.…
Just having Riccitiello on board as CEO shouldve been the iceberg off the bow for employees who know their history of the industry.....
If FTC and DOJ were remotely serious about doing their jobs, most of the mergers in the news over the last couple decades would have never been permitted. Market consolidation, despite being spun as ‘good’ for consumers, has, in fact, *NEVER* been good for consumers. That’s why anti-trust laws were enacted in the…
The Ready Player One movie made me officially sick of pop-culture references
the fact that Ernest Cline predicted our most likely future is lame. Lame, I say.
Yeah, I backed a board game on Kickstarter, and its production is being done in China, where the factory was shut down for a while due to continued issues with COVID. They’ve been keeping a steady trickle of information and updated release estimates, including pictures of prototypes as they come in.
I think it would be more appropriate to despise publishers/developers that throw out ridiculous “release dates/windows” that will inevitably get pushed back.
The real losers are the LGBTQ+ kids who will continue to be marginalized while these two entities measure their dicks.
They aren’t, but as far as the GOP is concerned these days, anybody that isn’t goose-stepping to the sound of their chest-pouding is a “woke pedophile.”
I think the problem with this is no matter what, it hurts the consumer and ultimately shifts the market to consumable, shallow game experiences. Why would you invest $10 in a quality mobile game if you know it’s going to be delisted in 2 years?
“Netflix doubles down on the thing no one asked for.”
They can lean into gaming all they want, but outside of the flavor of the week/month, it is extremely hard to make and publish a game that captures people’s attention and can sell millions. I know they’ve been making moves towards this for a while, but I don’t see having games reversing course for them, because they…
I’ll quote LeGuin here: We think of capitalism as inescapable. People once thought the same of the divine right of kings.
Reading all of this sold me more than anything else on this game.
It boils down to uncertainty. You’re not purchasing a piece of art, but an encrypted link to that piece of art. Most of the time, the artpiece lies on some public website, or a Google Drive/Dropbox. Since you can’t put a lot of data in a block on a blockchain, it’s limited to just pointers. The problem - when the…
“Without any problems” might be a bit generous. Needing a 128 GB memory card to even fit the game (do those even work in the Switch?), only half-decent wifi to connect to the server, fairly uncomfortable controls (unless playing on a proper controller in docked mode).
It’s definitely a plus. “Switch + TV” is leagues ahead of any other gaming arrangement when it comes to keeping things cool. My HDMI amp alone produces an absurd amount of heat on its own when not doing anything.
