I can concur with the pricing.

If it means anything though I noticed that, especially in the early days of the Switch with BotW, what happened for me was just that I spent more time playing games(and even replaying them even) to their full depths rather than immediately looking forward to the “next major release of

Same. And you know.. that’s kind of fine with me?

Plus the games already kind of have options to play with friends from what I’m seeing? Heck, the removal of the GTS for trading might even encourage people to coordinate with friends MORE than in the past. I’m weirdly enjoying NOT spending this gen trying to setup

Thank you for writing this article.

And I mean... GOSH I have to second everything about the Wild Area. I am ready to sacrifice a thousand poke-amie, super-training, poke-pelago, Festival Plaza and yes, even the GTS, or whatever else side-gimmicks past games had for Wild Area to become a new stapple of future

I could be wrong but I think they already are.

I’d heard the original was a truly short even if delightful experience so I have to say that it’s great news for me to know that not only the new game seem as delightful than the original... it’s also a much longer experience for one to enjoy <3

Something tells me I won’t be going wrong with this as my first Luigi’s

Oh yeah I can definitely see why dqb1 would have turned you off. There’s reasons I mentioned only the story of dQB1 and not Terra Incognita whose aimlessness and rather bland base island definitely made a turn off of an experience (especially with no means to change the music unlike DQB2).

I’d say it’s a bit of a mixed bag to call it tower defense. There are maybe *two* sequences that truly qualify as such in the entire game and I’d argue they’re very temporary.

If anything I’d call it more... “siege defense”? It’s less directly about building “defense towers” and more fortifications to delay/hinder

Pretty much. And even if many people complain the combat is not great in DQB2... I also kind of like the game aknowledge further that you’re the Builder rather than the “battler” by specifically giving you plenty of companions mechanics to offload a lot of the actual battling to your allies?

Honestly I still feel DQB1 has some value as it’s clearly the prototype that made DQB2's idea possibles. And I sure hope there’s a DQB3 someday because potential hooks in DQB2's endgame and postgames(just like DQB2 was hinted by similar hooks in DQB1) could hint at something pretty damn cool as a refinement of DQB2's

I dunno. There’s certainly people who do dislike it but there’s also a *lot* of people who likes the presence of dialogue in the game as adding to the fact it’s indeed a game(in the jRPG sense with a narrative structure to follow) rather than a pure sandbox with little to no structure to motivate one to go through the

Honestly, I agree with all of this and considering the “epilogue” specified it was the final FREE content update makes me hope there’s a later DLC such as a resurection of Dragon Quest Builders 1's “Terra Gladiatoris” to develop the PvE and Tower Defense elements even *more* than before.

Honestly, a DLC centered around

Perhaps not?
Mechwarrior was from the “Walking tank” school of mecha design that’s more popular in Ameria I would say.

Daemon Ex Machina is more from the Gundam-like school of “humanoid mecha” design with focus on humanoid bodies, higher prevalence of melee weaponry(laser blades/etc) and agile if not even outright

Pretty much the only reason I haven’t got it yet as a Switch owner was that my appreciation for Zelda and jRPGs still outweight my love of mechas.

So I got Link’s Awakening+Dragon Quest 11 S(and 1, and 2 and 3...) and probably will get Daemon Ex Machina sometime next month or December(november will be for Pokemon <.<).

P

I hear you there. Just this September I HAD to pick up Dragon Quest XI(and 1 and 2 and 3 <.< ) and Link’s Awakening.
So though I’m interested in DxM, it had to wait for the time being. Same for Ni No Kuni. Both are still on my wishlist. Ni No Kuni will probably wait a bit longer than others(if anything, I finally have

Honestly I feel so many people eyeing that alternative as the “next big thing”, all I feel is how it’s starting to look like the Atari days where almost *everyone* out there seemed to be looking to make their own game consoles until(combined with shoddy quality) it literally led to the fore-mentionned Atari crash...

Also despite costs and technical aspects I just realized myself that perhaps one of the issues that might affect NEtflix-for-games in the long run might be one that.... already exists on Steam of all places:

A glut of choices.

One low-key phenomenon I noticed with the Switch is the people migrating there from PC and

Honestly there’s to a degree I winder if the “netflix of games” future isn’t as likely to be as sustainable than people think.

It could be just me but the gaming industry feels like it’s already plenty cracking at the seams lately and such a Netflix like offering, especially with how many different companies seem to

Apologies for the lenght! I super suck at actually keeping things brief XD

But I’m glad it helped!

Tbh it’s hard to say. These are definitely the oldest games of the series and sometimes it shows even in the remakes due to their innate structures. This said, they remains decently accessible RPG(especially in their remake form). Dragon Quest games are sometimes criticized for keeping to a “dated” formula of

The monsters graphics aren’t too bad since they’re basically Akira Toriyama’s own original drawings for the most part, which is a nice touch because he’d made the concept artwork for the games’ monsters and characters ever since the start of the franchise in 1986.

The biggest issue IMO is the reworked character sprites
