I’m starting to suspect we might not only get that, but both playable at the same time. Both Link seem to be wearing *very* similar gear here which could imply they can equip similar equipment too.

Similarly, a lot of mechanics in BotW already exists that could be used as the foundation of a partner system:

‘Just with

It could be both of that though I feel development might be farther along than we think. Even in that regard.

If you think about it, there’s a lot that already exists in Breath of the Wild that could be expanded upon in not only “playable Zelda” mechanics, but perhaps even a formal “partner system” mechanics.

Just with

I think the blowback came less from being a remaster than being a remaster of the very game that had preceded it in it’s generations. Something of a first.

For example Leaf Green/Fire Red, Heart Gold/Soul Silver and Omega Ruby/Alpha Saphire are all technically remasters that expanded upon their original forms.... but

I think a delayed release might be the plan. They just don’t know the “when” because they might not be certain yet when *they* would want this to be.

As soon as every missing pokemons is finally done modelling and animating?

Or actually later, when Sinnoh remakes are released into Gen8 to provides specifically

The funny thing? Is these remakes are exactly when I suspect the full dex will be supported even in Sword and Shield even for transfers from older games.

Because it’ the perfect occasion to
A: finish modelling all the rest of the pokedex
and
B: providing Switch-exclusive first-time newcomers to the franchise with *an*

Yeah. And they already have so much backlash from when Ultra Sun/Moon were revealed as not even being Swich games despite being merely remaster of the very Sun and Moon we’d last played(Black 2 and White 2 at least were implied *sequels* to the previous games of their gen).

They *needed* this out in 2019 rather than

The fact you can transfer from older games IF it’s in the Galar dex make me think they indeed just lacked time. People were so miffed Ultra Sun and Moon wasn’t even a Switch game when it was just a remaster of Sun/Moon of the exact same gen... they *needed* this out in 2019 rather than delaying core Pokemon games’

““With the transition to the Nintendo Switch hardware, with it being much more powerful and allowing us to be much more expressive with each of the individual Pokémon, and now we’re well over 800 Pokémon species in the games.”. This comment alone, especially stressing the bit about “expressiveness”(after all Poke Amie

Could surprise us, like the Hoenn generation on the original GBA that was in a similar situation of impossible transfer from Gen1-2 such they had to make Leaf Green and Fire Red as a remake of Gen 1 with bonus Gen 2 content iirc. Especially since gen3 had LOTS of new pokemons iirc?

This said we CAN transfer from the

Tbh development time was a constraint. And they know how players were pissed that Ultra Sun/Moon wasn’t just barely a remaster of Sun/Moon but ended being a 3DS exclusive title to boot when the Switch was coming out, making the point of a “remaster” of the same game rather than “sequel”(like B2W2) or remake of a

Plus due to a side-gut feeling of mine: Imagine if it come with dual dimensions/worlds mechanics a la Light World/Dark World to boot?

A side note: Him not answering “how many playable characters are there” which means “multiple” is a possibility.

One possibility: Dual worlds mechanics(with both characters stuck on separate sides of whatever dimensional border) as an echo of the very old precedent of Light World/Dark World in A Link to the Past, Past and Future in Ocarina of Time or even Twillight Princess’ own clear echoes to ALttP’s Dark World with their

All of what you said basically. If Zelda “paint” was to be “slapped” on a non-Zelda game, then at least the best thing they could have done(and have done here) was to do it as a collab with what was one of the biggest indie sensations at release.

And a remake of it confirmed already(and I was impressed by what it looks like, which isn’t something I could say of Secret of Mana’s remake as much??)

And Wind Waker>Phantom Hourglass involving the same Link again than the game it was a sequel for.

It kind of used to be ironically with Zelda 2 and how Link’s Awakening/Oracles’s Link sounded like he was implied to be the same Link than ALttP, just “finally exploring other lands than Hyrule” and eventually Majora’s Mask and technically Phantom Hourglass.

But as a result I’d daresay Phantom Hourglass is the literal

It would make perfect sense. They could recycle the entire overworld of BotW AND still find ways to introduce massive expansion of content.

I dunno if we’ll get both. But I strongly suspect at least that Zelda might be the primary protagonist if we don’t.

In the trailer, we’re shown that Hyrule castle is uprooting itself from the ground and is the source of the earthquake. And the epicenter of it all is actually Link and Ganon whom we can suspect were thus

And a sequel is the perfect excuse for them to. In the same way Majora’s Mask proved the perfect excuse to experiment with stuff as wild as the mask allowing Link to assume the form of deceased characters’ spirits. He didn’t just shapeshift after all, he was literally channeling the spirit of that deceased Goron or
