I prefer the texture of fresh green beans that aren’t so incredibly soft. Outside of that, I didn’t think it tasted that much different, and it took SO MUCH MORE time.

The A.V. Club review said it was very “Key and Peele”, and I 100% agreed with that. “Screw this in for me.” Just hysterical.

It was a good episode! “That’s the Game” was my favorite, but it was chock full of goodness.

Yeah, we went to Maple & Ash in Chicago for my brother’s birthday, and I had put in the OpenTable res that we were celebrating his birthday. Everyone from the person who greeted us downstairs to the host to the server wished him a happy birthday personally, and we got a custom printed menu with “Happy Birthday

Considering The NY Times has an icon they use specifically to denote this practice, I don’t know how anyone could think it was unique to Trump.

Excellent, thank you! My stepbrother is getting married in Florida at the end of December, so I’ve been trying to stockpile a few books to read there.

That one is in my TBR pile! I should probably get to it over either Thanksgiving or Christmas. Would you say it’s a beach read, or no?

I’ve been having a lot of awesome brain-time about this whole subject too, so thank you so much for adding to the discussion! As I said on the newer article, I just really enjoyed these conversations, regardless of whether or not we were agreeing. :)

Possibly I’m thinking of the O-deck one, but for some reason I also thought the main site had one. I might be misremembering, though.

That whole thread was absolutely the MVP. Just hysterical.

I think io9 used to have a book club too! I wonder if maybe it didn’t get enough traction? Or maybe new ownership didn’t want them endorsing a book without compensation or some shit?

“Inclusion absolutely matters, in the classroom and outside the classroom, but yelling at a single woman with absolutely no sway in the publishing or academic worlds, is not the way to get it.”

The Taco Bell ones are great, but the McDonald’s ones are kind of messed up. Like, I know there’s a six-piece nugget on the menu, but I can’t for the life of me find it on the kiosk screen. Plus the screens at McD are like, overwhelmingly large. I’m not sure if it’s an accessibility thing or not, but if it isn’t,

100% agreed.

I love Kresley Cole, especially her early stuff (her later stuff is just a little more rote, and can be frustrating because she just keeps expanding into new characters rather than writing about the ones we want to see that were introduced in earlier novels). Ilona Andrews (a husband and wife duo) haven’t written

I was disappointed that they missed a clear flub of a line reading, when they accidentally used Cavill’s real name instead of his character’s. “You’re a Witcher, Henry.”

Haha, oh no my friend. My brother and his friend were once drunkenly trying to make Pizza Rolls in my apartment, and the somehow accidentally pulled the whole oven door off. We got it back on...kind of. One side still sticks out more than the other, so it’s probably the most inefficient oven ever.

I still don’t think it would be to her credit if she joined a committee to prevent an entire school from reading a book because she’d already read it and wanted to try new things? This wasn’t the only thing taught at the school.

It’s the context that’s a problem for me. In a general article about the Common Read program getting more funding, the story that Nelson chooses to tell is about how she literally joined the committee specifically to make sure they didn’t choose Dessen’s book, after throwing out how they’re “fine for teen girls”. You

Ooh, a romance novel would be great too! I always think more people would read those if they could get over the stigma and give them a chance. I read paranormal ones a lot over my vacations, and nothing is more fun or relaxing for me than just getting swept up in them.
