Didn’t Lee’s crime completely cut off any connection he had with his mother and brother? And that the guilt of not being there for them kinda had a hand in taking in Clementine? I took it as Lee redeeming himself for his crime and the chain of effects that followed after. Kinda seems necessary for the plot. I

The majority also liked the woeful DmC: Devil May Cry(which, admittedly, at least managed to rectify its gameplay shortcomings in the DE), and Mass Effect 3, the most insulting conclusion to a series I’ve ever personally borne witness to. But hey, they’re entitled to their opinion.

ayyyye, woolie is like top 10 youtube personalities imo

Vagrant Story would break Cage’s brain. And Tactics Ogre would reduce him to goo

The game is drawing on historical imagery of the civil rights while saying nothing about it or really even seeming to understand the context of that history. That is a valid critique, even if IGN thinks the game is sweet (nobody tell me what IGN actually thinks, I don’t care).

Those reviews are also the personal opinions of those individuals, and speaking as someone who did play the whole game, I found it to be typical Cage schlock nearly from end to end. There’s been some nice QoL improvements, like the prompts being clearer and more immediately visible, the flowchart was a nice touch, and

Yeah. Personally I see very little redeeming qualities to his pick-your-own-adventure games. The storytelling isn’t good enough to justify the whole experience. I would rather read a good book, watch a good movie, or play a good game (key word being “play”). I think these games have heavily benefited from Playstation

If Cage ever played a game by Yasumi Matsuno his head would explode from not being ableto handle an actually competent story

Like I said in Evan’s previous article about Become Human, the reason Cage gained any prominence was he was doing narrative-focused games in a time when the industry was very, VERY insecure about itself when it came to narrative. For some reason large swaths of the community (developers, players, and even journalists)

I’m surprised so many people liked this comment. You’re not being remotely objective to an entire company’s body of work. TellTale’s Walking Dead Season 1 is universally praised, and lest anyone forget it begins with the african american main character on his way to jail for murder, a point completely unnecessary

Nobody else is making games like this - heavy emotional narrative, branching narrative, fully voiced and mo-capped, bizarre context-specific controller manipulations, etc, and there is a market for it. I’ve been wishing for years that this Quantic Dream type game would become a genre that other companies would attempt

Cage holds himself up as a paragon of the industry, here to show others how it’s done, despite not having the technical chops to make an engaging gameplay experience, nor the writing acumen to pen a worthwhile storyline. I can excuse a poorly written game that’s fun to play, and I can excuse a boring game with a solid

Lee Everett wasn’t a hacked up string of what some white suburbanite misremembers about black culture, so nah, man; you are not rite.

The problem with these games and David Cage is that videogames as a whole are still a relatively new medium for pure storytelling. So when there is a game that actually puts story at the forefront, people flock to it like it’s groundbreaking. When in reality it’s hamfisted “Oscar bait.” Humans abusing androids is a

The only Quantic Dream game I’ve ever played was a demo of Heavy Rain. Reviews were overwhelmingly positive, so I gave it a go. It’s just a giant QTE (Quick Time Event), and they’re not even particularly good either. I mean forcing people to make a dialogue choice through QTE, which requires you to read 3-4 different

the super best friends got me hip to how terrible he is. none of his games looked particularly interesting so i didnt pay it any mind, but their youtube series’ showed me how much of a hack he really is. this game is getting solid reviews as well.

If anything captures the current administration it’s destructive aliens that try to appear to be something they are most definitely not.

It's kind of like looking back and seeing how another game handled something similar alot better, Metal Gear Solid 3.
