No. The problem was that when the black student voiced his discomfort with both the selection and listening to his white classmates all say the n-word over and over again the teacher stood her ground.

This reminds me of one of my JR high teachers. We had to memorize an assigned poem/piece of work each week and we would analyze them together as a class throughout the week and then on Friday each student would get up and recite the poem.

I think the issue isn’t “making fun” of another culture but rather profiting off of it.

That’s a good point. I guess I never thought Rocket’s jokes were meant to be funny. I always thought his character was more “I think I am making a joke but I am actually pointing out something seriously wrong” and he’s the only one who thinks its funny.
