No one should think of Obama as a perfect president because one doesn’t exist. We should think of him as a man who did his best but still stumbled a few times. Instead of rejecting him for his faults we need to instead think of ways the next Obama can avoid those pitfalls.

Came here to say this. The game’s been in development for 4 years, as of recently they were still hiring for critical positions*, and they had to scrap most of the project after taking it away from the third-party studio they hired to make it.

On the other hand, come the new year my nephew is going to be sitting in the middle of the kill zone between the IDF and ISIS, waiting on UN authorisation to shoot back at the (either) fuckers.

This. As a veteran, of course I don’t want any US servicemember to remain in a combat zone a microsecond longer than necessary. But I also don’t want the efforts they’ve already put in the region to instantly go to shit because they weren’t given the chance to transition control to “the locals.”

Seriously. Getting our troops home in a responsible way that doesn’t fuck our allies and destabilize a critical area while giving a huge victory to some of the planet’s worst autocrats would be a good thing. But that’s not what we did.

Yeah I was having this convo with my godsister. Getting out of Syria isn’t a bad thing per se...but this isn’t how you do it. You don’t leave people hanging out to dry like this.

Also, the State Department just this week approved the sale of Patriot missile systems to Turkey. How convenient.

Thank you! Dude is standing back and letting a genocide happen. This is NOT a good thing!

Hanging the Kurds out to be massacred by the Turks (again) in return for not losing tax breaks on Trump Towers Istanbul, not so much…

So YOU think that the Army Corps of Engineers building something means that they use funding allocated for the military. OK.

I don’t want less government if it means a shittier country. I want less wasteful government. And I used to think less federal overreach was good, until I lived in the South for a few decades and now know that the States can’t be left to their own devices without fucking over the people.

I held my nose and voted for her.

Yep, we’re definitely fucked, because the primaries haven’t even started yet and liberal bloggers are already trying to destroy their own.

Actually, NDT frequently mentions that when Europe was in the Dark Ages, it was the Muslim world that was out there discovering and naming a fuckton of stars in the sky.  It was at one point in their history that one cleric/imam character rose to power that everything went to shit (including science) in their part of

That’s the one that really caught my eye; I wouldn’t call genocide “heroic.”  About the only good thing Jackson ever did was hide cheese all over the White House before van Buren took office.

On one hand, with their own service maybe they’ll stop bitching about being “censored” from Twitter and Facebook (lololol no they won’t but work with me).

Good call. They just lost their livelihood, possessions, and way of life...

In the end it’s quite possible California just won’t ever be a good place to live now, geographically, between the fires and earthquakes and pollution...

I am so infuriated by comments on other sites about the causes and what went wrong in the Camp Fire by people who are obviously not from California and don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about. Keeping a safe zone around your house doesn’t do shit if there are gale-force winds blowing embers everywhere and fire

All presidents have their accusers... and again, I’m not defending the Clintons.  They gave us Trump, but let’s not get into the land of conspiracy theorists.  That’s Trump Turf and we need to stay above it.  When they go low, we go high.
