These same people are the last ones to picket outside of Universal Studios, the Lego facilities, toy manufacturers/retailers that handle the “Wizarding World” IP and things of that nature

Her platform and rhetoric amplify and lend legitimacy to the people who commit those very hate crimes, and the folks who call for more of them to happen (such as that one subhuman the BBC published). Just because she herself isn’t out in the streets with a hammer doesn’t mean she isn’t just as responsible.

I mean is there any real debate?

To summarize the objections:

“Your choice to purchase, or not to purchase, this game has absolutely no impact on Rowling.”

Anytime you feel the need to include, “Yes, the holocaust was horrible...” you may want to rethink whether or not you want to hit publish.

It’s not really “looking for reasons” when Rowling has very publicly made those statements…but this is all spoken like someone who probably has never had to deal with comments like these directed and them. Must be nice. 

And who do you think inspires people to commit those murders, who shifts those people’s worldviews enough that they make the decision that a trans person’s life isn’t valid?

People aren’t “looking for reasons” to be angry. People are rightfully angry over transphobia, and this game is based on the franchise created by one of the world’s most visible transphobes.
