That photo cannot even begin to convey the hopeless sense of utter crapitude of the interior of those cars. They look cheap, they sound cheap, they smell cheap. The interior of your Golf was merely diststeful, but still sturdy and coherent.

Look, in Brazil they made an extensive redesign to make it a little bigger, but they also managed to make the interior incredibly awful. Generic as fuck, and awful. At least my version can claim it’s originality as a ground-braking departure for econoboxes’ interior design too.

That’s weird. My first Ka (a ‘98 Spanish version) had that storage bin. My 2005, Brazilian 1.6 doesn’t have it. And it also lacks the pivoting rod to lock the rear seatbacks at a 90° angle.

I always thought it was a shame Ford never really did more with the KA other than strap a bodykit on and stuff a slightly larger engine in.
