Can we keep the political garbage in the garbage and keep this site / forum dedicated to cars?

So, to the ban everything guy, why are you at a car site again? Most of what you hate is perfectly harmless. You’re getting your blood pressure up over nothing. Oh no, flame decals, someone call the authorities!

Youre mistaken, thats for the weather at station DEVC1. https://www.pwsweather.com/station/mid/devc1

Item #3:  Harbor Freight sales fliers.  Not the tools, the fliers.

Really? Picking on fire trucks?? What’s next? The ice cream truck music is too loud and killing kids!!!

I agree there.

Some people are in love with spiting their own face. I like the ones who come out against LS swaps because “it’s been done.”

I can’t imagine not buying a fantastic, bang for your buck, sports car just because of stereotypes.

Indeed. Personally I’m not a fan of slapping turbochargers on everything, but I’m impressed they preserved the high redline; especially since it already makes 800 lb-ft from 3,000 rpm.

Porsche 911 Turbo : 3,635 - 3,790 lbs

The 2025 911 Turbo starts at $199,195; the Turbo S starts at $232,395. So maybe the way to think of the ZR-1 is that it offers 911 GT2RS ($294,450) performance for +/- 911 Turbo pricing?

Exactly, although it’s not quite as simple as just accounting for inflation, because you’re getting more equipment, safety, better technology, and more performance per dollar than in 2002.

Adjusted for inflation, that 2002 $42k is...$75k. So if you want to get all mathy, the base price hasn't really changed.

I hate to say it, but $100k is the new $75k. Cars generally have gotten more expensive across the board, especially performance cars. I think a better way to look at Corvette prices is to compare them to their competitors of the time. For example:

They do give them vehicles, but you’ve got limited test cells, limited people, and limited time.

- Many of the people criticizing Verstappen are happy to forget about Senna binning Prost at Suzuka in 1990.

I’m old enough to have seen revered drivers, people like Senna and Schumacher, perform acts that would get you banned from the sport now. I agree this was whiny and petty, but it’s hardly unheard of from “championship caliber” drivers.

These arent “solid state” batteries. These are dry cell betteries which have been around forever. Theyre using the SSD nomenclature as a marketing ploy.

Headline giveth. Article yanketh away. And so does the video, along with some in depth comments. Semi-solid cathode not quite solid yet. Maybe the way to think about these is similar to a semi-boneless ham.

Lithium polymer battery. Not a solid state cell. Perhaps you’re confused about a mechanical disk drive versus a solid state drive?
