I’ve been in the Cities for about 7 years, but lived just over the St. Croix in Wisconsin for an additional 8. Hot Dish is still just sort of a hard-pass for me. I just can’t do that much cream of something soup, and I’m ambivalent about tater tots at the best of times.

My Registered Dietitian is married to a Cordon-Bleu trained French chef. She does all the cooking at home because, as she likes to say, you put that much salt, butter, and cream in food, OF COURSE it tastes awesome.
I’ll stick with it. They only had a half-hour to set up two different locations - the ship itself and the command center - as well as the split between crew and passengers on the ship. It might have been better served with a 1 hour pilot to give it some breathing room.

Getting quantified recipes from my late mother - who was an intuitive cook and learned at the hands of my great grandmother who wrote nothing down - was always a bear. I’ve written some of them down, but it’s always a bit of guess-work.
