Of course there is.
Of course there is.
Some 350 Chevies made as little as 140 SAE Net HP. This car powered by such an engine would hardly be fast my today’s standards.
Modified vs Stock isn’t a very good comparison. The turbo car would benefit more from a chip tune, traditionally, anyway.
Erik,
Great project.
Um no.
I had a 5-spd 4.0L Wrangler. Never saw close to 20 in town. Mild driving, perfect condition. It was just a gas pig.
They do look better in person, though the styling it still “too much” for me.
No there aren’t. Adjustable vanes means the vanes in the turbine itself move.
The problem with adjustable vanes is that they don’t react instantaneously. That means they lag on their own by default.
That’s a gross oversimplification.
It’s relatively recent.
Good observation.
And then block subject matter experts such as myself who make their staff look inept.
I’m a well seasoned mechanical design engineer with three US patents. I’ve been a car fanatic from the time I could walk (1965 or so) and knew how engines worked by the time I was 7 years old.
Get real.
Some Demon’s have run much quicker than that (e.g., high NINES).
