What “race record?”  Pintos were terrible in anything resembling production line stock state.

The described “271 HP” engine was 289 cubic inches and not “280" per the article. Also, like all pre-1972 model year advertised power figures, that was a gross rating.  Some 200 HP the crank was about it for that same engine in its full “as installed” (SAE Net) state - with full factory exhaust system, all engine

C6 Corvettes have a mechanical override cable fitted with a small plastic finger pull to open the door in the event the electronics fail. It’s located near the bottom rear of the interior door panel. The author should have know this prior to publication.

No spec sheets here - just lap times.

Golf R can’t touch the Civic R (or this Integra, I’m sure) at VIR (raod racing circuit). Different league in terms of lap times, really. Civic R: 2:58.8; last Golf R (2022) tested: 3:04,3. Having done the math (I’m a mechanical engineer), that means the Civic pulls on the Golf by some 47 car lengths per lap!

Fully concur.  I’d go straight for the Acura version and wouldn’t even bother to cross shop it with the Civic R.

Integra S drives like an entirely different car than lower spec models...

So then Acura dealers magically won’t mark up the Integra’s price, even though Honda dealers do the same thing for the Civic R?

Acura used an entirely different sound system:

You “don’t understand” because you haven’t researched all of the differences between this car and the Civic Type R. For one thing, it’s an entirely different stereo system (not just “4 more speakers.). Stiffer body panels improve structural rigidity, seats are heated (driver 12 way power plus lumbar), Acura as a

Better off buying a new Civic R or Integra Type S.

I fully agree. Plus the MK8 cars have other cost cuts everywhere, including a cheap hood prop rod (no more gas strut), unlined door pockets, cheaper interior plastics and seats and so on. I’ve owned 4 consecutive new GTIs; as things currently stand, my 2018 Autobahn 6 speed manual will be my last GTI and my last VW

All VW needs to do with the MK8 GTI’s interior is move back to something that very closely approximates the Mk 7 and MK 7.5 models. I owned examples of both and still drive a low mileage 2018 MK 7.5 GTI Autobahn. That interior is much nice and far more functional than the MK8 cars. VW also needs to bring back other

Reality here. He wouldn’t have made it home had outdoor temperatures been 15 or 20 degrees lower due to ambient temperatures huge impact on battery energy density. Imagine how “great” the truck with be with a trailer combination that equalled the maximum towing capacity.

The author needs to follow your advice on this. These cars have outstanding brakes when they’re properly maintained. Also, fixed piston calipers like these require more frequent fluid changes per their manufacturers. The calipers need to be properly bled each time that’s done.  It’s not just the price of these cars

Using bolts (with tapered inside diameter heads) provides a more precise fit. In that same design, the weight of the wheel and tire are typically carried by the hub (with hub centric wheels) rather than the bolts, meaning the bolts are largely dedicated to providing clamping force at the resulting joint. Some vehicles

The automatic transmission version appeared as an option in the 1993 model year and was also offered with the V6 in 1994 and 1995. All automatic cars used the 3.2 liter version of the SOHC V6; all manuals used the 3.0 liter version.

Some EVs won’t even charge at 0 degrees F, with real world ranges being some 1/3rd of the advertised range.  The media in general tends to avoid that harsh reality because EVs are “PC.”
