I understand its your job to play a lot of different games, but this is common knowledge to most Destiny players. All it takes is some exploring of the new menus and options that were added in 2018, no lurking Kinja comments required (as if it’s a great news source to begin with?). For all of the faults with this

I know you haven’t played Destiny 2 in a while, but... this is pretty widespread information for Destiny 2 players. Did no one at Kotaku HQ say “Hey, I think everyone discovered this when they introduced Collections back in 2018, so... maybe this isn’t newsworthy anymore”...?

Snarky, I like it.

Yes if there’s anything the world needs right now - it’s MORE politics being injected into completely unrelated electronics and product reviews.  Pour it on.  Four years hasn’t been enough. POLITICS FOREVER

Where is the editor here? Did we really need an aside about a “previously undiagnosed hand condition?” Good grief. And the last section in which someone with what seems like a very narrow, strange worldview decides to opine on the state of the world? Give us a break. People came here to read about the PS5, not read

Yeah, this could have been one sentence that said: “Don’t go out of your way to buy this immediately if you’re struggling right now.” The end.

I’ve written it up for them. Update: Many people are out of work and the world is very scary, so if you feel any joy playing the Xbox Series X, think about it. Aren’t you kind of a terrible person?

I think there is an argument to be made against both that part of the article AND against the OP in this comment chain, but you have done neither. This comment is nothing. “If you don’t like it, then GET OUT” is facile in any context.

But the PS5 is... So...  UGLY. Like, it's rare already that I buy a console anywhere near its release, but I am likely gonna wait until we have a completely new model, and hope that by then, it's more aesthetically pleasing.

Invoking politics, even for a party I personally agree with, in a PS5 review- and especially when the Xbox One Series X review does NOT include a section on politics- is simply stupid. Sorry, but it is just out of place, not well phrased, and does not belong.
Yes, current events are important, and yes- that will

I was watching Fox news coverage of the election, and was weird when they started talking on how good the ps5 controller and fast load times

He did! He also said ‘there’s an irrefutable level of privilege attached to the ability to simply tune out the world as it burns around you’. I don’t think I’m too far afield in taking that as something of a criticism.

Absurd addition to this review.  Are we going to mention ongoing tragedies in every review of luxury items and consumer products?  "Here's an RTX 3080, but let's reflect on the pandemic that has killed 240k Americans.  You probably should feel bad for buying this"

Ian also did an entire bullshit editorial about the Biden campaign animal crossing island. I really don't know why he needs to shove so much editorializing into stuff. I get we're in the middle of a horrible pandemic with hundreds of thousands dead, but don't add your political opinion into a fucking review

It may be true but the state of the world and the country are not reasons to not be excited for the console. Those comments are just out of place here.

You know, on any given day you’re alive and enjoying yourself (or not), there are millions of people suffering. Disease, poverty, violence, slavery, and ethnic genocide literally happen every day. The pandemic is just a newer blip on the radar of human distress.

Yep, what I want to read about in my reviews of products is the state of the world and politics.  BEST part of the review.

Review is needlessly political and the end but I am looking forward to getting my hands on one of these next week.

This sounds like Amazon’s fault, not Microsoft. Like, how many consoles did the manufacturer offer you at launch? Don’t sell more than that number! This isn’t rocket science.

Seriously I don’t really get that review, it’s not hard at all actually. You choose ONE weapon skill for one character, one or two competence skills like hacking or whatever, and that’s it. The stats are pretty safe explanatory but luck, which gives you more chance to crit or have free actions. That’s it. Very high
