370Z is a weird one. When I talked about Japanese sports cars, I meant BRZ/FRS/S2000. I don’t consider the 370Z a sportscar, more of a sporty GT car. I personally don’t care for the VQ engine either. I agree, I think the new GT Mustang Premium is better then the 370Z. I’m not really sure what purpose the 370Z serves…

The Japanese would rather engineer a sports car then lazily take a truck engine and other components from a truck, put it in an economy car spec package and brand it as a “Pony car”.

...and they can’t claim they don’t do V8s, given the excellent trucks they’ve put out. It could also play off the truck/NASCAR fanbase.
