The whole problem here is that the car has licensed software to begin with. If I’m paying that much money for something, I want to be able have full control of it. This goes for any manufacturer, not just Tesla.

In fairness, this is a 4 banger so it didn’t have the chain issue as far as I know. It was mostly the 4.0 across all the trucks that had them as an option.
This is all but impossible on modern vehicles, especially ones with a billion sensors. It will most likely put the truck into limp.
Because humans want to automate themselves out of existence?
This. I looked for 18 months to find my Frontier - CC/Long Bed/6sp. I would have bought new but they didn’t make that combo for a few years by that point. I would have had an easier time finding that combo in a Taco but the two Toyota dealers close to me have both screwed me pretty hard in the past and I wasn’t…
These trucks had that issue. Some of the early VQ40s failed in something like 20k miles and it took them about 5 years to finally resolve the issue.
Why not both?
I’ve had this conversation before. A Baja is just an Outback with less utility. Literally the only benefit the Baja has over a Outback XT is that you can fill the back with mulch without putting a tarp down.
I’m sorry, but you are wrong. A gen 2 Legacy GT Wagon (late 98 or 99 ideally) fits the bill nicely.
You can pick them up for under $2k rust free. The engine is the week point. The EJ25D bottom end sucks - smaller bearings than the phase 2 motors and the HGs fail without warning. There is a combo that seems to work…
*Insert I got into an accident driving a 1965 land barge and the 1993 Nissan Sentra I hit was totaled but my car didn’t even have a dent comment here.*
First the air bags are trying to kill us with shrapnel and now the seat belts are trying to burn us alive. And these are dumb systems! Just wait until all these fancy lane departure assistant safety stuff starts to get tired of your shit. Only a matter of time before you see a bunch of cars launching themselves off of…
What year Taco? The new ones get about 26 highway in the real world (manually calculated). The old ones were just as bad as my Frontier though...
It’s like welding your arteries closed with butter..?
100% this. This was close to 10 years ago and inexperienced. It’s like $250 a year for my 3 vehicles and it’s worth it.
Were these the RE92A that Subaru put on like every Subaru for a stupid amount of time?
He obviously wants a car that drives like a truck.
Different jurisdictions. I would have become a hermit if that had happened.
Both of the events happened about 30 miles apart in separate towns. I should have added that... Also, south-east MA so population density is pretty high no matter where you go. The odds are not very good of this happening.
In the case of the video, I would say it was acceptable, but most of the time it happens right at the merge and these assholes usually travel another 30-40 yards before getting into a proper lane.
I got rear ended by a woman who was on her phone. She got out, didn’t want to call the cops... or give me her info... or anything. Just wanted to leave. She hit me hard enough that he radiator was cracked and leaking fluid and my bumper was hanging on by only a single clip. No airbags luckily.
I call the cops, they…
