I am a survivor of that slide and can attest to its greatness! I will be looking for the documentary when it’s on Amazon/Netflix, whatever....

And now it’s in mine...damn!
I can’t corroborate Jack’s story but I have seen this behavior in action. I was exhibiting at a conference, I have individually wrapped mints on my table. A faculty member picks one up, uses his teeth to scrape it out of the wrapper, walks to the next exhibit and tries to hand the saliva coated trash to the woman…
Now that brings back some memories of drinking at the OD....Sea Isle should definitely be higher!
I did this in Houston not realizing there was more than one airport, never having been there before. I flew into Hobby, which is HOU, so the Hobby part didn’t really register. Got in a cab to go to the “airport” and the cab driver asked me if I was going to George Bush Intercontinental Houston...I latched onto Houston…
It was a great book. Sequel was also good...recommend it highly as well.
Former Manhattan dweller checking in....first thing I thought of when I read the headline was the Burp Castle...loved that bar!
I am one of those people...inherited the napping gene from my father who could doze off with finger poised on the remote to change the channel. I prefer short couch naps and I’m like a toddler who will fall asleep within 10 minutes of being in a car unless I’m behind the wheel.
That is generally my napping method too but if I’m really beat in the afternoon I set an alarm on my phone for 20 minutes so I don’t miss my stop (the one and only time I did miss my stop alcohol was involved...shocking I know)
That wins...Bus ride from Pittsburgh to Philly after a college friend’s wedding...still wearing my lavender bridesmaid pumps...quite the look...what a godawful trip!
There’s a bar in NY, the Bridge View Tavern (near the Tappen Zee) that has these little tray thingies that totally make eating at the bar an enjoyable experience. I don’t know why more bars don’t have them.
EPL on Saturday mornings are a great excuse for early day drinking too!
Having driven in most states on the eastern seaboard and several countries in Europe (paid $$$ to get automatic in Scotland, no shifting with the wrong hand!) I would say Italy scared me the most. All the lunatic Vespa drivers! Boston is tame by comparison
Not sure why Phillies seems less awful and I never thought of it til now...is that just me as a Philly native or is Texans really worse?
I must say that I’m afraid to price out the little gourmet pop tarts etc. but the banana would be an option...true...
Oh and the ones in the new WTC shopping mecca are still in decent condition....
Very true but Drew would have to make a coffee purchase (is that wise?) since they generally do NOT give away the secret decoder key to those restrooms without a receipt.
Mmmmmm....scrapple....Gotta love that scary breakfast dish, but corned beef hash is a great second! And I always wonder why the waitress/waiter asks me if I want home fries with my hash...total overkill
Ask you shall receive...Alec Baldwin is the host of the new Match Game. More cursing, but no one smokes on the set though..
I used to (hell, still do) love animal crackers. I seem to recall in the dark recesses of my brain a brand that had a “does not occur in nature” shade of pink icing on them too. So great!
