Maybe they'll do some character development with his Bohemian-hot brother storyline. I think he's most convincing when he's being normal and family-oriented but this show does such a good job making ostensible bad guys appealing that I think they misstepped when they took away his playboy persona.

Exactly. They don't even do their shopping at regular stores where Frozen would (still) be plastered on everything.

Ah, that might explain some of the weight gain, as well.

Ok, different "secret" but you reminded me: Does Mrs. Crawley really not know about Marigold? It surprised me when they danced around it at the beginning of the show. It seems unnecessary and hurtful to leave her out of the secret.

I heard that in Tom's voice!

Could Bertie be any cuter? His attempts to not lose it at the restaurant won me over forever.

Clearly he doesn't want to get replaced romantically but this episode also gave us the pool scene and his little speech about doing all the things he didn't get to do with Mateo so whether we the viewers feel like we have enough evidence to say he isn't getting enough daddy time, some part of him (we are told) feels

No, I mean the lavender carpet stuff, the public image, that's the big deal. In years past he had other dates. This year he's alone and unprepared to be—potential scandal and no one to share the awards moment with.

I didn't say she cuts him out entirely. We see it in little things, like this week when they were in the pool. How often does she hand him over to Rafael, how much day to day time does he get to himself? He gets to do mostly sideline stuff with her there, the occaisional baby-sitting, but I don't see Jane viewing him

That's right, he tried to make himself look better

Oh, did he tell her to have an abortion? I remember that abuela did but for some reason I thought Rogelio didn't get a real vote.
They just seemed to drop the steptwins, haven't seen them since they made nice with Jane. But their mom was bitchy jealous, right?

I think that at that moment Rafael was acting honestly as he saw it. Petra saw through to what motivated the change and realized it wasn't enough but it wasn't maliciously engineered.

I agree, this was a big, big deal for Rogelio. An internationally-big deal. Give Mom a hug, pick up ice cream on the way home.

I really wish Jane would get called out on her monopolization of Mateo when it comes to Rafael.
Also: How cute is that baby? Not often impressed by TV babies but wow, he's beautiful!

But it would also be in character for her to miss a dose (who doesn't?). Still, you're right, no more babies. I think Rogelio needs to grow up and realize he may have also missed his chance (though to be fair, he also had Jane taken from him and seems to be shut out from the twins for some reason…?). But Mateo is

Right, of course they would not see Liar but there was the skip code thing—but it was just a quick look, easily played off or forgotten if they decided not to go with it. I was just saying it's more fun to rewatch looking for the secret's clues than to watch it as straight as the actors knew to play it.

Do you suppose they started doing the nasty super-slick thinning hair look to distract from the chubifying? If so, it didn't work.

Bale's Batman is going to get throat polyps doing that voice.

See, I really like Raj and wish they would do more with him and don't like Leonard.

I heard the actress is pregnant for real so they didn't want to try to awkwardly get around that in this show. Otherwise, yes, keep Bernadette with the girls, she's a nice balance.
