your phone is, like, 13 months old. You really expect software updates still? Do you still get updates on your Underwood typewriter?
Pathetic pleb

A lot of good little consumers have been trained to not only not complain, but to enthusiastically wait in line to spend a grand on an item that will be rendered obsolete in a matter of months due to such technological needs as “slightly larger screen” or “barely noticably improved camera”
Why not offer the update in 32-bit and 64-bit versions - if it’s really that big of a difference - so you can improve performance for your new products but still maintain service on the old?
oh yeah, “to encourage customers to buy newer iPhones”
I’m sorry, but if you sell a $1000 product, you should offer software…
Is that that the OS update is so mind-bogglingly different and advanced that it needed a 64-bit processor, or does it require now a 64-bit processor simply to “encourage customers to buy a newer iPhone” ?
if it’s avoidable and done to “encourage users to buy an iPhone 7", it’s planned obsolescence.
The fact that it has been six years doesn’t negate the fact that its obsolescence was planned
the original SWBFII was one of the most fun games of all time. The campaign...existed, sure. But I never finished it.
It was the ability to chain a bunch of quick matches with custom modes in different maps that really made it awesome. Play as a wampa, then a heroes fight, then a space battle, then a regular battle on…
I don’t disagree that it will be temporary, it certainly will be. But the market downturn - however temporary - is indicative of some degree of uncertainty that would be cause for some degree of concern.
the market doesn’t give a shit about anything.
People do
A single event that causes a loss that large will still be cause for concern from the company. It’s by no mean’s significant or indicative of a trend, but it sends a message.
I agree. Legally, lots of stuff that’s shit is permissable.
I’m used to defending my outrage, a lot of people ITT are under the impression it isn’t justified
wait...Munoz, is that you?
Did I claim otherwise? Other responses I’ve made to this comment have made clear I did not. It is a statement made by customers that is anticipated to have an effect on the brand. Don’t be an asshat.
Stick to humping Bibles/corporations rather than being a reading comprehension guy.
No one faults “Acts of God”. The fault is intentional mismanagement of resources in a way that will certainly guarantee people get screwed. It’s not good business practice for any industry. Maximizing your profit should take a back seat to providing a functional service.
So, why couldn’t UA have rented a car and paid…
We are certainly in agreement here.
It’s incredible. The skill companies have to absolutely and completely mislead and misinform consumers is astounding and not justifiable.
Sure, it’s typical, but no less incredible and no more justifiable. The fact that this is accepted by law is beyond belief; no other T&C can get away with such intentionally…
Where did you see a flight would have been cancelled? I have not seen it confirmed that these employees were being sent to work and not to recreation, UA has just said “employees on standby”
Is that assumption or do you have a source for this? Not being a lazy researcher, I just have not seen this.
Further, couldn’t…
while I will contend that this may be legal, technically, it’s certainly an incredibly ridiculous example of screwing consumers over in mindbogglingly complex ways.

Basically, even if you read the T&C (like a maniac, because no one does) you’d still be fucked because the language is intentionally misleading.
I don’t think that language is something any reasonable person would interpret as such. “Boarding” is a clear airport terminology for getting onto the plane.
I think there is a clear case to be made here.
