There will be highway rest stops targeted at road trippers.”

No, because that’s not what a taxi company is. Taxi companies are usually fleet based or utilize medallion systems which allow exploitation that’s generally even worse than Uber.

I like the concept of Uber and Lyft. The idea of crowd sharing transportation is a good one, and something that shouldn’t absolutely continue.

Now playing

I know most people won’t feel this car, but I do. It’s just the right age to hit my nostalgia bone. Plus, I always liked the styling on these early W body coupes (as well as the related Pontiac Grand Prix). For fun, here’s the Motor Week review of the 1988 version, but with a manual (!) and a poorly-fitting dash (of

Nebraska analogy allowed.  I may have giggled.

I try to never bee too rude in the comments but here it goes:
This car is a complete pile of shit in almost every imaginable way. It’s not fast, it’s not well built, it’s not nice, and it’s going to break a lot, but at at least the roof leaks. Their is no 199- Oldsmobile anything that is worth $8495, I don’t care what

I’m legitimately shocked by the number of people saying this is a good price.

You know, I have to imagine panel gaps are a pretty serious issue on a roof.

“We want globalism! No, not that globalism...and not that globalism either.”

This administration literally sent a proposal to congress a few weeks ago asking for an extension of EV tax credits for “American made” EVs.

Well you just taught me something. I didn’t realize solar roof tiles were a thing anyone else was doing.

I don’t mean to always be a Tesla hater, but they make it incredibly easy. When my wife and I were getting quotes for solar panels, we briefly thought about BIPV. (That’s “Building integrated photovoltaic” for those of you who aren’t hip to all the modern green lingo. We’ve very woke. Anyway...)

2nd gear: Roofers are going to roof. This is just the fact of life.

Had an Olds Alero as a rental when they first came out and was very impressed with the performance, fuel economy, and looks. If you look at one from the side they sort of have the profile of a Mustang of the same time but with 4 doors.

Some people do it for the sake of doing something to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and not to save money.

2nd: Here is the world’s tiniest violin playing a sad song for the doctor in the 4,000 sf house who’s getting ripped off by luxury brand Tesla.

Good lawd are we a soft society at present.”

1st gear: While we are at it, we should subsidize the buggy whip and horseshoe industry. Not fair for those hardworking leatherworkers and blacksmiths to lose their jobs over the automobile!

I never understood why car people dislike public transportation so much. Better public transit = less cars = less traffic = better driving experience. Is there some sort of irrational fear that if public transit becomes good they’re going to be forced to use it?
