I’ll vouch for Frankenstein and Bride. They’re an awesome one-two punch of classic horror. Son is okay. I haven’t seen Ghost. TBH they turned me onto 30's cinema because while it’s black & white, and ton of it’s dated, there’s something about the style from then which really does hold up.

I didn’t see Dirty Dancing until this year, at age 40. I have a six year old daughter, so the movie for me is about how Baby and Jake’s relationship matures over the film. Which is why I loved the movie.

I didn’t realize the novel is much more cynical compared to the movie, and that Gump’s success is centered on its outlandishness. Basically the Forrest Gump novel is a tall tale in the spirit of Pecos Bill and Paul Bunyan, but with some bite to it.
