Great car, looking at past BaT auctions there was a nice late Bertone X1/9 that went for similar money to this one, but most of the rest of the nice cars are all over the map from $10-20k. This one really looks pristine, but can’t give a nice price at where they have it listed.
Seems like the seller is trying to get their money back on the work done. It’s nice, but seems like (maybe) and $18k car to me.
As a novelty, it’s right for someone. Just not me.
The Mustang II is a cool car. A Mustang II that’s left its malaise era “efficiency” behind is a very cool car. Under $10k? Yeah, I’m in. I doubt anyone could build this car to this point for less. NP.
As much as I enjoy new articles I hope you are getting paid double time for working on labor day! ND by the way.
No no, Rob...the car was built on a Pinto platform and it sucked. That’s why people don’t like them...it IS the car. It may have been successful back then, but that doesn’t mean it was a good car...and the styling sucked ass too.
Not a bad looking car, but missed opportunity not going with the bright yellow that was typical for that model. Any idea of HP on this car?
Yeah, actually in the fantasies of who the owners are, the recent receipts are key. The likely older owner might be slipping when it comes to keeping up recently or the possible new owner might not have a clue on what to do. But as for much over the last 2-3 years, this doesn’t matter, because obviously someone was…
I learned to drive on an '86. My dad had an '82, '85 and '86, for my mom, him and me. He had owned numerous other Alfas previous. Not a single one had a second gear synchro left, but as long as you rev match and double clutch down (or just skip it) they're wonderful little cars. If I had the time and space I'd own one…
Receipts! Even just the recent ones show good habits. I think if I were more confident about my skills at wrenching I wouldn’t be onthefencing.
Thanks for this. This cemented a NP for me. Recover the passenger seat, maybe put in a new head unit with Carplay and drive it. Don’t have to care if the paint gets chipped or the body work gets dinged and just enough it.
I own an 86. Mine is modified to within an inch of its life (turbo, built motor, megasquirt ECU, etc.), but it means I’ve turned every nut and bolt on the car. These cars are mechanically simple, reliable (yes, really!), easy to maintain, and will provide a lifetime of smiles. The downside is that it’s not going to be…
To the contrary, that many miles is a GOOD thing on a nearly 40 year old car. That means it likely didn’t spend long periods sitting and someone did everything necessary to keep it running.
My first thought was “Nope, never.” Then I read the description. If that car has done over 200,000, then it’s solid and cared for. NP.
It doesn’t matter how thin the line is if you’re a football field’s length away.
This assemblage of polygons is an insult to Deloreans everywhere.
ISTR that it’s oriented in such a way that it’s going to be less effective as well - something about how it’s basically working against the flow of rainwater as it goes over the screen (bear in mind that I am not smart enough to tell if this is true, but I do know that there are very few vehicles that have wipers…
...where would Tesla’s shares be...
Hey, you keep the name Aptera out of your mouth...
