They actually pitched, and almost went through with, a comic soap opera spin off around Calliope.

Same here. Catwoman and Harley Quinn’s depictions in BTAS were key to me realizing I was bi later on in life. I was never sure if I wanted to BE Harley, or marry her. Arleen’s portrayal is also my headcanon voice whenever I read the comics. RIP.
I remember watching BTAS in its initial run, finding it a pretty cool show. When Harley showed up, I fell in love, and never missed an episode in hopes that she’d turn up. She’s by far my favorite comic universe character, and I grew up promising myself (childhood fantasies and delusions) that I would find my own…
You wouldn’t have known her even if you had been reading the comics. Harley only exists because of that performance in that episode. Any comic she’s in was a result of that. Its honestly difficult to think of another bit part that ended up having such an impact both in the ‘source’ material and pop culture at large.
I love both Kaley Cuoco and Margot Robbie in the role, but it is impossible to imagine their performances without what Arleen Sorkin brought to Harley as a foundation. RIP
Arlene and John’s work in DOOL was amazing. I worked nights during those years. I found them on the soap back while channel flipping. Their characters were as if soap opera characters became self aware and found laughing has in the same day. It was next level stuff that I was always amazed got on the air. It was great…
My mother was an avid viewer of Days of Our Lives and I remember saying something like “Holy shit! That’s Calliope!” when the words “Mistah J” came out of Harley’s mouth when she first appeared on BTAS.
hahaha it has sat not moving since 1993. You think it will only need a “tune up” Are you high? you think A car sitting in storage for 30 years just needs a tune up? Just flush the radiator, change the oil and plugs and bleed the brakes and it will be ok. And you would trust just doing that? After it sat for 30 fucking…
I was thinking Turbo LS swap and drag slicks.
“you’re going to have a bad time.”
True. But they will charge Beverly Hills rates.
Eh, as long as the hard parts and trim (door handles, chrome bits, etc etc) are in good order, you should be fine. If you have engine issues, you already have the GM 3-speed in there, you could easily drop a SBC Chevy in it. Electrical problems are whatever, grab a good multi-meter, sharpen your soldering skills, and…
Yeah, that’s who you want.
I mean worse comes to worse you engine swap it and bag it and modernize the breaking system. Buy it for 9500 dump another 6k into it and you have a decent weekend car. If you want to keep it original it will cost money I think RR have a 6000 mile service schedule?
EV restomod could be fun, too. Arguably, an RR is a prime candidate for a smooth, torquey EV powertrain.
There’s a lot more GM in that Roller than its THM400 transmission.
The Constitution is regarded as one of those “liberal things” that conservatives like to ignore.
This is one of the cars that I have an irrational love for. Less irrational than the E60 M5, because I know that car will bankrupt me. This one will likely only be pricey. Good news is that the known problems can be repaired, and with better parts that shouldn’t fail again. The seller really should part out the…
A quick search of the E39 M5 market, and it seems appropriately priced for this end of the market. Less miles and you’re in $40k+ territory.
