Let’s not forget how bad these were when they came out.

No, fuck this shit. I bet there’s Hyundai museum somewhere that has one sitting. One is enough to tell a cautionary tale.
Running and driving shouldn’t be assumed here - this thing has been off the road for 14 years and is going to need some work and a thorough going-through to get everything up to spec. It also likely sat for a while prior to that given how low the mileage is.
It was a not great a car when new. The price while seemingly low likely represents a market high. In Canada the Pony and the Stellar were previews of the legendary brand quality, which took many more years to shed, the Excel didn’t help much. For years where I live the brand was pronounced “High and Dry”.
I think he was on his way out of his second marriage when I was born. I won’t google any of those things to find out because I don’t want to give him, or anything associated with him, even the slightest amount of traffic.
Some weird destructive things just tickle the right neurons for some people. Avoid the ones who don’t keep it to themselves.
You knew Donald Trump when he was a kid?
I knew a kid like that once. Just the most baffling, pointless lies. And for what?
Before you put the “heaviest” part of the tire next to the valve stem you mount the tire with the side marked OUTSIDE on the inside, right? This feeds all the air to your intake manifold so you don’t need a hood scoop for your turbo, as I understand it from recent articles.
they made paint ammo for airsoft in the late 1990s it didn’t work great.
In junior high my best friend had an airsoft gun. He swore it was a paintball gun and his “proof” was the red mark on the sidewall of his mom’s Dodge Raider. When he couldn’t create another mark it was because his dad took away the “paint” ammo.
There are two reasons for putting the label at the valve, and they have nothing to do with balance.
Market wise, it’s probably NP. My folks had basically the identical truck pictured here, decals and all, if you replace the canopy with a cargo rack and a bed liner. The same red paint issues all of these seem to develop. It was a 1989 (they must have changed the dash in 1989, when I compare it to the 1988 listed) one…
This reminds me of the bicycle mechanic’s practice of putting the hot stamp (colored label) next to the valve stem. With premium rubber this will correlate with balance plus it makes it easy to find the valve, and like indexing the quick release levers it shows you care
People in the market for 37 year-old vehicles are more likely to be able to operate a clutch than not.
Honestly I was a bit hesitant due to the automatic — I learned to drive on one of these with a manual, and man was that fun — but still it’s a NP for an honest little truck that should be a peach to live with for basically as long as you take care of it. If I were to buy it I’d stop at an auto zone on the way home…
I guess it’s a sign of the times but, assuming the rebuild was done well, I’m calling it NP. This has more cargo capacity than most modern quad cab trucks that are three times its size. I thought the Maverick’s success would’ve been enough, but manufacturers still haven’t recognized the desirability of a small truck…
I know. I have a small version of the first gen Tacoma and people are constantly asking if its for sale. Other than the Maverick with its joke of a 4 foot bed there isn’t anything being made like this anymore for the US market.
I had to resist the urge to open the post, scroll straight down to voting and smash the Nice Price choice. After dutifully reading through to the end, I then smashed the Nice Price vote.
