A job is transactional. I’m not there to chitchat with people who can’t be bothered to be aware of the fact that I’m there to work and I’m not interested in them trying to force socialization on me.

I used to feel similarly to your devil’s advocate position, but I have reversed my stance over the past three years. I do better at home - I prefer the absence of interruptions, the freedom to set my own schedule, to cook my own healthy meals for lunch in my own kitchen, the savings I get in gasoline and parking, the…
See I mind my business. Ive been working here for 11 years and I dont know my co-workers name. If I saw them walking past me on the street I wouldnt recognize them. I know my boss and Jerry from Accounting. Because he cuts my check.
It sounds like the relationship you had with your colleagues was that of being friendly with each other, but not friends. It’s just easier to see that now.
“the idea that zoom etc can completely supplement all the lost benefits of face-to-face collaboration is as ridiculous as saying Tesla’s cars can drive themselves.”
That is the thing that surprises me most with this. I work for a gigantic tech company and use to work for another one of the big players and even before covid they moved a ton of jobs to Work-from-home because office space is fucking expensive. Over a decade ago my job begged us to work from home, even gave us a…
Honestly its more straight forward then that even
It’s probably a foreign concept that some people enjoy and love their kids instead of treating them as future cogs in the machine of capitalism.
And if you can’t trust them from home, why do you think that you can really trust them in the office? I’ve worked with people that could find ways to waste the entire day at the office. Work is assigned and it gets done, or it doesn’t.
“I miss my work friends” is a reasonable response to WFH. It’s not a compelling reason to force anyone else to return to the office.
Generally anyone who takes more than they need should not have any opinion on ethics/morality, as abolishing that sense is what’s needed for this amount of wealth.
Don’t forget the fact that he’s been killing large amounts of animals for testing on that stupid brain chip he wants to put into people.
The man is the living High Evolution.
He doesn’t spend time with his kids, why should you?
He wants to micromanage them. Nothing else
Freedom of speech is hugely important, and doubly so when it comes to bad people. You -want- to know what they believe.
Wait, wait, wait. You’re telling me that a billionaire, who can afford to buy and pay for absolutely anything his heart desires including the best childcare in the world, doesn’t see why working from home is beneficial to some of us? Is this the same guy who tweets constantly about plummeting birth rates and how the…
Says someone who didn’t pay his office rent.
My WFH days are when I get the most work done. This week is one of my busiest weeks of the year, my boss told me to stay home so I can get more done. Trust your workers, Elon. If you can't trust them from home, either they have deeper issues, or you do.
Please Universe, remove this man from this time line.
