Even Leon character finds it cringey, and that’s what saved it for me. He very specifically makes sure it never goes beyond platonic because he knows it’s wrong. Which is more than can be said for the director, a fact I only learned much later in life.

I didn’t find it cringy at the time, but I was 13 then and was just really happy that I successfully snuck into the theater.

No, it didn’t take any heightened sensitivity to find it creepy at the time, as it was overtly creepy by any generation’s standards. The wife and I tried to watch it not long after it came out and we both got too weirded out by it to sit through the whole thing. That, and the fact it didn’t seem like it was going to

I’m with you, it was definitely cringey at the time. I always thought part of the point of the movie was that the relationship was all kinds of unhealthy for both of them?

I’m not saying that my ethics radar was better tuned than most people’s even back then, or that I was more worldly, or that I graduated high school and can read, or that I don’t go poopsie in my pantsies once in a while, et cetera, but I actually thought that movie was cringey at the time. Portman was 12 or 13 when

I had an ‘86 for 27 years. What a hoot to drive; like a big go kart. I never understood why these didn’t get a collector status. I finally sold it for $1 to a friend at the Toyota dealership who gave me good advice over the years. It needed nothing except the R134 conversion was never very good. I think the condenser

The car “fax” will detail how long it’s been where.

Eh, it hasn’t even been detailed yet, I’m sure that removing the old decals, buffing the crap out of it, and maybe refinishing the wheels will do wonders for this car.

Valve cover gasket is a simple fix, but if you wanted fresh paint then yea you are looking at 3-5K. I guess in my head, I wouldn’t be doing fresh paint without way more work happening.

Oh damn, lucky you that’s great!

Even though I know I’d never fit in one, it’s an easy NP. Maybe there’s something I can do to lower the seat a bit?  No idea. Anyhoo, it’s a super cool car and would be totally worth it.

this would be a perfect garage mate to my ‘86 CRX Si. Gets a rock solid NP from me!

For you it might be a scammer. For me I would show up there in about 45 minutes and determine whether it is legit or not.

What are you spending 3-5k on to restore? Overall it looks like it is in good shape so other than maybe some dent and scratch repair I don’t see that much in work. If you wanted it brand new fresh, you are spending way more than $5k though.

I loved her first.

Nice Price! I still don’t understand why these are so cheap to begin with, but how clean this is, I’d be all over it.

Lack of snow and consequently, road salt.

Car looks presentable and usable to me as is. Also looks like a lot of fun. Way back in the day when I was graduating from British sports cars as my daily driver I looked at one of these and an RX7. Liked them both, but the RX won out because it was going to be my daily driver, and it had much more space to put things

Shut up and take my money
