I worked for the company that built the prototype system for the original Evergreen 747. The tanks are aluminum sheets with lap joints, similar to the construction of a Boeing fuselage. The tank endcaps are single piece spun aluminum discs. The heat generated by the spin forming process heat treated them as they…
Maybe as a safety to prevent runaway or, ironically, “dieseling”.
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe they just use the butterfly valve for traction control or idle regulation, kind of like what the Nissan VQ37VHR series does. Or maybe it’s something to do with emissions control/catalyst regeneration?
If you need to poop, or need to pee, just go right in with vacancy!
That’s not how a lightbulb works. If you double the voltage (110v to 220v) through a “60W” rated bulb, the increased voltage “pressure” will push roughly twice the amps through the bulb, since the filament resistance is constant. Realistically, the filament will overheat and the bulb will probably burn out quickly.
I was on a flight with a college girls soccer team. One of them came back to the lavatory, saw that the door lock said “vacant” and asked “Which one is vacant again? Does that mean someone’s in there?”
The only person I’ve personally known who regularly used the word dude was my WWII vet grandfather. As in “Those B-17s were bad dudes!”.
I came here to post this exact same comment. If they would take all of their lobbying money spent and instead put it toward education and training, I think we would all be a little bit safer. I wear a helmet every day no matter what (ATGATT). I’m not going to join an organization that spends so much time and money…
Is that Andre Agassi with JK Rowling?
No reason to completely remove the mural from the hood. Just modify it to be Balsac from GWAR. Instantly makes this a much badderass car.
Monotony is the scourge of the solo liver
There's a Robin Club in Dallas. They had several at a European Car Show a couple of years ago. All drove in under their own power.
1. I once cut my hand on an ice cube (dumb). Ten my wife tried to clean the cut with a Clorox Bleach disinfecting wipe (dumb).
Yeah. Either Cody or Shane. In a few years, once the little assholes are old enough, it will be Colton. Dallas suburb parents are the worst...
The axle ratios are significantly higher. In "High" range, it is 6.40, in Low range it is 8.72. Depending on which 5 Speed transmission is used, you could have a 1st gear crawl ratio as low as 65:1. I personally used to haul loads of palletized sandblasting aggregate at about 20,000 lbs on the flatbed, plus the…
1st gear Low is extremely slow. You can pull stumps out of the ground, but, yes, it is very slow.
I used to drive one of these trucks for work. It was a 5 speed manual transmission, with a 2 speed planetary rear axle, for a total of 10 speeds. It looks like this truck is the same setup (orange knob on shifter is rear axle lock). The shift pattern was 1L, 1H, 2L, 2H, 3L, 3H, 4L, 5L, 4H, 5H.
As a rule of thumb, Southwest needs to fill 8 flights daily in order to justify having operations at an airport. Airtran didn't have that rule and would run down to only 2 daily flights in some airports. When SWA acquired Airtran, they re-evaluated Airtran's operations and ceased service to some smaller airports. …
