I am not a vitamin scientist, but I’ve been vegan for 15 years and vegetarian for three years before that, I take b12 when I remember to (which has been like...daily for a few months, then not for a year, then every few days for a few years, then I forget about it, etc.) and my b12 levels have always been very high.

I didn’t mention gelato, but also there is definitely vegan gelato.

I've been vegan for 15 years and I am not disciplined at all, I eat donuts and soft serve constantly...but I'm also not an athlete.

Taking a b12 supplement is extremely easy!

Exactly. You can absolutely have a healthy, balanced vegan diet, and it is the best thing for the animals and the planet, but manipulating studies to make wild claims about the health benefits helps no one. I don’t really see it as a “difficult path” for myself, since I live in a pretty vegan-friendly city and cooking

Here are her thoughts on why science matters for vegans!

Thanks for breaking this down. I’ve been vegan for 15 years for ethical reasons and this kind of pseudoscience bothers me so much and does not help the animal rights movement at all. If anyone is looking for real, science-based vegan nutrition advice theveganrd.com is a great source.

I don't think it's a thing normal people care about. I've had various Samsungs forever and I do not know what kinds of phones my friends have most of the time because who cares...you can use Google Hangouts or Skype on any kind of smartphone so I'm not sure why someone would be attached to Facetime.

I’ve had to get up at 6:30 for the past two and a half years and I still rarely am able to fall asleep before 1...I am just extremely tired all the time!

It’s a lot easier for some people to wake up earlier than others...sleep issues are real.

Thank you for the NWSL coverage! More please!

Ah yes, because straight people never make music about heterosexual relationships or sex.

Here for NWSL content! More please!

Oh interesting! I know that plastic lids are not allowed in my area, didn’t know there were places that did recycle them.

You’re generally supposed to separate the glass, the lid is metal.

Your region probably has a website that outlines all of these specifics for you! I know mine does. In general, plastic lids cannot be recycled and should go in the trash, so there’s one answer.

I was looking through some old photos recently and found one of my grandmother (my dad’s mom) in her 20s and for a moment I thought it was my mom in her 20s. Had never noticed the resemblance before but, um.

When I took out student loans I don’t think that would have made a huge difference...I didn’t have a concept of what a reasonable amount to pay per month would be, because I had no idea what my income would be after college, or that a recession would start while I was in college...

If you don’t open them, they’ll just leave them there for the next guest (or at least that’s what I did when I was a hotel housekeeper.)

I get two weeks PTO a year and I don't use them because I'm afraid I'll get sick and be screwed.
