Finally it happened! So glad you enjoyed it, and I’m sure it was an experience I’d genuinely love and appreciate, unlike Homer at the Star Wars Pops concert...

Nicely done! I believe that AC4 is about the sea and scenery first, then the naval combat, then the traversal, then the story that devolved quickly into “meet a new vaguely historical character so you can justify killing him in forcibly tragic fashion a few moments later because Pirate[sic]”.

Who says boys can’t like paper dolls! I love helmet on the first one, but would want it on the light, agile kit in the middle...very cool!

Indeed, I love coming here on WAYPTW and Keyboard Geniuses, at minimum. I admit I’ve not been very inspired to comment on articles very often this last year or so (even before we moved I was failing to find anything constructive to add to the conversation), but I still enjoy reading everyone else’s great stuff.

Competition has really pushed games forward across the entire spectrum, and has done it mostly in the iterative sense rather than the inventive one. Games like Stardew Valley take the farming/dating simulation and introduce it to both a new and starving audience. Breath of the Wild flipped the open world inside out,

First of all, thanks to Wolfman Jew and everyone that attended Mario Kart 8 on the 8th last Sunday! I was traveling, but this time was for pleasure instead of work, cashing in vouchers for a trip to Hawai’i!

Ua hele māua i Kaua’i no ho’omaha! Mahalo!

So nicely put, and I love that the pendulum is finally starting to swing the other way. I hope people with influence can teach people that being productive is more effective, and that dedicated systems can give people a way to vet their teammates prior to jumping into a game...like Tinder for Destiny.

I think we’re due for a new Advance Wars! Turn-based strategy is now known to be a hot seller in Switch, and that series is due for a new iteration. I’m thinking if they want to do something new they can combine small and large scale strategies like XCOM with global resource management.

    ...and also with Space-you!

I’m only one ability/upgrade beyond you in Samus Returns, so we’re close to each other in the game! I made the mistake of watching Mark Brown (of Game Maker’s Toolkit) tear down Samus Returns vs. Metroid II  and AM2R, and WIRED also did a “AM2R did it better” article, which makes me feel almost guilty for liking it,

I didn’t get Kirby at first, either. My first game was Amazing Mirror, so the phone mechanics, clones, and non-linear level design had me utterly confused and lost. It was probably even worse than the originals to introduce the series, but after I discovered Planet Robobot, I am with you and I get it.

Indeed! It’s like QWOP meets Trials Mountain.

He can read an offense with such ease and intuition, and the only wish is that he’d share more of HOW he manages to read it, so we can start looking for it ourselves. He is putting everyone to shame! I watch Cincinnati Reds games where the announcers might as well not even be there - they often don’t even describe

I agree that Europe is probably the best gameplay version, I ADORE the real trains on the cards of the Marklin (Germany) Edition, and wish that was part of every set, and wish the Scandinavia Edition (which we bought for our Norewegian friends a couple of years ago for, well, Christmas) supported more than three

I’m so sorry about your friend, and empathize with your friends dealing with his loss.

Have fun next week with #MK8onthe8th (I put it in a hashtag hoping to get Whovian out to downvote it)! If we were racing MK7, I could be there, but I’m not taking my Wii U to Hawai’i...something I won’t ever have to say with a Switch...next year!

It’s funny that I’ve seen Matt show up on my 3DS friends list this week, seeing He’s playing Silver, and it never once occurred to me it’s not out yet, despite setting the pre order in the eShop! I also love Will’s description of Heat Signature, because a game that calls for desperate measures sounds kinda liberating

Nope! It’s totally been there the whole time, though I’ve only used the deck guns and ambulances once in all the times I played, and even then it was a quasi-solo run where my wife and I tag-teamed controlling all six characters so we could teach ourselves the advanced rules.

Ha! I’m sure it was compelling to some people that might be able to more closely identify with the setting, which makes such a story seem better. I won’t disagree the lack of options in the narrative path makes the idea of it being “my career” disingenuous, but at the same time it presents real issues that real people
