Indeed. To paraphrase the modern proverb: When you wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty and the pig likes it.

While I can appreciate frustration, this is not a constructive way to express it, nor a well-reasoned one. Nintendo has no obligation to any specific consumer’s desires, and using abusive language, poorly obscured or not, doesn’t promote sympathy to your cause.
Sounds tranquil and delightful. I grew up on a farm 10 miles outside one of those types of towns. Now that I live in that town, I miss the quiet, and it’s so nice to visit my folks’ place and sit outside watching the beans grow.
Curling season started last month. Everyone had league Fees and dues...
You aren’t in Saskatoon, are you? I’m planning on being up there for the Men’s bonspiel in February! (If you are in Regina, nevermind, and Go Roughriders...I got to hang out with Ritchie Hall as our honorary coach a couple years ago!)
I’m getting the soundtrack in my Special Edition package, and I think there are some tracks on YouTube already. Might be worth a look, but I can always get back to you when I can give it a listen.
Yeah, I keep clicking on “Kinjamprove”, but it’s not making things better.
Wow, nicely said and thanks for reminding me of this theme of Quiet, because I’m working on a historical treatise of games that use outside media to expand the narrative (basically, doing what Metroid Prime did, but through manuals, included novellas, and included items that tell stories “beyond the code”). I should…
Play Coins are a system-level currency in the 3DS. They can only be earned by carrying the 3DS in sleep mode, which runs a built-in pedometer. For every 100 steps the player takes, they earn 1 Play Coin, up to 10 per day and carry no more than 300 at any time. Developers on 3DS can design their games to use the…
Sorry you can’t make it, but at least you won’t go to bed with scorch marks from all the bomb blasts!
I really struggle with considering games that need me to pay attention to them consistently or constantly like Destiny or World of Warcraft. I am hoping the Switch can at least give me access to more games in the vein of Rocket League and Splatoon, but those are still “occasional” types of games, even if they are more…
Mr. Glitch! Ah! I actually converted the Overwatch text channel to Destiny because it was inactive for so long! Maybe we can do a “meetups” channel instead? I was counting on the Discord being used as much for post- or inter-match discussion as anything, but frankly we have few enough folks that posting most anywhere…
If you want to find a group, I converted the under-utilized “Overwatch” discussion group into a “Destiny” label on the Unofficial Gameological Discord Group. You can find the direct link to the text channel at:
Hi! It does look different here, but for the most part we’re still chugging along, albeit a little slower and more methodical than we used to. The close-knit Society is arguably a little more distant, but our continued existence only solidifies our commitment to being the only scintillating comments section on the…
System. (There, squeezed and extra one in for good measure.)
Thanks, Matt! I understand that you have to sleep SOMETIME, and I will follow you to make sure I can find the post earlier.
Baby Park is what I was imagining when I said there will be no survivors...
Oh, yeah! I keep thinking of Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne, “You wanna get NUTS?! Let’s get nuts!”
I really wish more games and/or systems has the 3DS “Play coin” system. That is (was?) a wonderful system of introducing scarcity, limitation, and merit into a consumable system without feeling like it was exploiting the player.
Actually last night I had:
…the canyon battle with Revolver Ocelot, and I managed to spot the beehive in the tree after a few minutes of dodging. Shooting it down was a hoot, and I’m not sure if that was optional or it was something I was supposed to do to complete that section, as it led into a cutscene of many more
