I believe they are different editions with update information. I have “Press Start to Continue”, which I believed was the only other one, so I’ll have to look for others. Thanks!

We can understand. People are passionate about their hobbies, and we can’t all be passionate about the same ones.

First of all: welcome to Gameological!

I’d recommend former Playboy Interviews Editor David Sheff’s great book Game Over. It covers the history of Nintendo from 1889 until the 1990's, focusing on the modern video game history. It’s pretty much a definitive look at the company and how it got to where it is today.

The link is 404'd now, so I take it they got the message. Either that, or their webmaster followed the path through which apparently government works now: be gifted a job you weren’t prepared for, say something incorrect, and get fired or quit.

That’s exactly what I was going to say; it sounds like the way Knuckles changed the way original levels could be navigated, and made you not only re-think levels, but also see the levels in an entirely new way; climbing changed the walls into opportunities, gliding put a new, almost casual perspective on the spaces

You seem to be, Carlton, but you’re currently “Pending Approval”, so I don’t know if you are fully vetted yet. Did you get your accounts linked OK?

That’s a totally fair assessment in terms of gameplay, but I think the assertion here is that Bioshock changed the way game stories are told. While GTA III showed that 3D free-roaming worlds can be vibrant and complex, it was really a volumetric version of the previous versions. GTA I and II were equally “open”

Any community is a function of its membership, and with our own URL, for the forseeable future, we are not going anywhere as as long as we stick to doing what we’ve always done. Not to be too philosophical, but there are a lot of “inevitabilities” in life, and giving up on what you have simply because you know it

I’m seeing that now - Matt Gerardi said, “Speaking candidly for a second, I’ll just go ahead and say that all your concerns about the nesting comments have been heard. The people in charge of this whole process and the way it’ll be shaped over the next few months are very glad that everyone seemed to be unified around

Fair enough - I can’t wait for the comment I already posted via Disqus to show back up on this article. I swung for the fences on that analogy...

I think the “Kinjamprove” plugin sorts chronologically, at least as far as “not pending” comments go...maybe? (So many serifs!)

    Hi! Yes, it works!

You can choose which one to merge, so it'll be fine!

Oh. Well, I've been trying to be positive and hopeful, and yes, I agree that Gameological is a blip. I doubt all of AV Club is, but I imagine it's probably more like a foothill to the other sites' volcanoes.

"Gimme all you got program! I can-"[DEREZZED]

I also think the Kinja technical people will work on it - they're not blind to our use case, and they are genuinely worried about how we've been reacting.

[pops over to Kinja to squat on the George Liquor account ID, as well as George_Liquor, GeorgeLiquor, and Jorge Licor]

You'll have a blog space for it! Do a big write up! Add Pictures!
