It is kind of indicative of the thought process behind the Dilferish takes that, “I stayed silent about child slavery because I’m a team player!” makes sense to him. There is so much less thoughtfulness and reason in these takes than in the supportive ones that it kind of takes my breath away.

You are correct but the nuance here is that he is a bullshitter and, as smarter people than me have noted, bullshitters don’t really sweat getting caught in a lie. He has long been known as a notorious bullshitter, inflating the value and his involvement of everything he’s even remotely associated with.
