I didn't think the pilot was that great. It wasn't necessarily the writing, it was the casting that killed it for me. The main girl and beefcake dude are so bland and forgettable. I couldn't pick them out of a lineup of Abercrombie & Fitch models.

I found it highly unbelievable that Gyllenhaal wouldn't have made the connection with the body in the basement to the entire investigation much earlier, because that necklace was so memorable.

There is a lot of nostalgia in Her. The smaller phone, the "handwritten" notes, the clothes. It rang very true for me.

Such a great end to the series.

I'm surprised Daniel Bruhl isn't getting more widespread recognition for Rush. I was including him with Oscar Isaac and Chiwetel Ejiofor in a small group of actors who were getting long overdue recognition in 2013. I guess Rush has been mostly forgotten by a lot of awards voters? I hope he gets an Oscar nomination…

It's nominated for Sound and Screenplay, so it didn't miss the deadline. At the very least Oscar Isaac should have been recognized.
