The Princess Bride book is so underrated. I've read it 5 or 6 times and it's just wonderful. William Goldman is great. I also read Marathon Man, but before I saw the movie. I liked the book better but they're both very similar.

I saw In The Loop this year too. Fucking brilliant stuff. Interesting to see the differences between local politics in the UK and US. That whole bit about the garden wall being Simon Foster's downfall is just priceless.
The second I saw him I was like "his hair looks weird"
I've had a problem with Moffat's DW the past year or so. The stakes are always so damn high. It makes it difficult for me to connect to the stories because he raises the stakes and then has the Doctor cleverly fix everything in 40 seconds.
I think Taran is the strongest male cast member.
I was mildly confused by the actual plot points (I couldn't quite follow all the back door dealings and grudges and such) but I think it set up a great series. Gandolfini was exceptional and I will definitely watch more. I'm right in the middle of rewatching 30 Rock and I want to see that through (I've inexplicably…
With the exception of The Other Guys, I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of Adam McKay's work. So I get that Anchorman 2 isn't really for me. But that is the section of the movie that I felt was the biggest waste. It didn't enrich the movie for me at all. Just my opinion.
Luckily????
I was up til 2 Thursday night after seeing Inside Llewyn Davis, and I had to work a half day starting at 8 on Friday. Saw Anchorman in the afternoon, when I was super tired. So I guess I wasn't in the right mood for it. *SPOILERS AHEAD* The whole blindness / shark plot point was so pointless and arduous. It actually…
I quickly read the first half of it at the store. I thought it seemed pretty good, but yeah, a lot of set up. I guess we'll see how it goes.
I'll be the first to admit that I'm a little biased. I spent my teen years listening to tons and tons of folk music. Dylan was a huge favorite of mine, as were Tom Rush, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Koloc, Townes Van Zandt (not all from that same scene/era, but still very rooted in folk). My love of folk music led me to…
I saw Inside Llewyn Davis late Thursday night. That was my most anticipated movie of the year and it did not disappoint. I can't wait to see it again. Oscar Isaac is an exceptional actor and I'm so happy he's finally getting the praise he deserve. (Same thing could be said about Chiwetel Ejiofor and Daniel Bruhl.…
I thoroughly enjoyed McKinnon's Shakira. "It's time for Santa Claus" or whatever she said right at the end made me laugh.
I saw it last night. Fucking loved it.
I think Springsteen joined him on that on and "Sexy and I Know It".
"Wright is also currently casting Tiger Lily, the daughter of the natives' chief, so Native American actresses in their twenties should start lining up… to write angry letters when a white actress inevitably gets the role."
I understand that you have your own system of judging the site's success. Readership numbers are definitely important. Redesign or not, your readers are still here. However, they are also highly annoyed by the new site. Facebook has gone through tons of huge redesigns. We get that redesigns happen. The problem I'm…
This redesign is absolutely terrible on so many levels. Features like the community grade and notifications for new articles have been totally wiped. I would say that I visit the site about half as often as I used to because I know I'll be completely infuriated by the site functionality. It's just stupid. The fact…
"Hey Korean Jesus…" made me laugh so fucking hard. The way Jonah Hill delivers that line, so casual yet so serious.
Stop fucking with Korean Jesus! He's busy! With Korean shit!
