Chill, dude. It's the Internet. Not the place to take things all personal-like.

I understand it. I hate it, but I understand. Can you imagine the production costs on this show?

I'm not unsympathetic to that point of view: Someone once tried to get me to read a fantasy book theory: Shadow, Thorn, Something? I dunno. Anyway, I got more than 400 pages in and I was so goddamn bored. So I gave up. I told friend-o, and he said, "yeah, that's when it becomes good." And I said to Hell with

I'm disagreeing with a lot of criticisms of Sense8, which is a show I f'ing love, but I'm with you in that the Wachowskis (and for that matter, JMS) do suck at writing dialogue. Always have.

Truth.

I'll bring the kerosine, Cas, you bring the propane torch. That was the first thing I thought about when I read this piece.

It wasn't Joan Chen, though it looked like an Asian woman playing eyeless lady. I understand they couldn't figure out a way to bring back Josie into the story for the remake which is a shame, because it'd be nice for that character to get some resolution.

I like that kid. Very likable. The fact he doesn't speak may have something to do with it.

When the camera came to rest on the prom photograph of Laura Palmer, in the display case in Twin Peaks High School? I thought that was perfection. The story's about so much more than Laura Palmer obviously, but she's still the touchstone of the entire franchise.

Seconded. I saw no indication that she was unworldly in any way.

"Must've eaten locally."

Yup. And I don't think anyone has said "hi" to Dale since he got out of the Black Lodge, which would make this his first original word.

Given how they've used Lucy, Monroe, and Bowie, I really doubt they'll be able to get away with "parody." They're used by Media earnestly, if with a wink at Shadow Moon and the audience.

CBS. And they're joint-ventured with Starz Inc., which means they probably had to get permission but it also probably wasn't a heated negotiation.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight.

Loved the beginning, Kubo-style animation and all.
Loved Laura faking the dead to get Mad Sweeney arrested. His realizing what she was doing there: "You're an asshole, Dead Wife!" was comic gold.
Gillian Anderson as Media as David Bowie alone makes this show worthwhile.

I knew this remake would have me in the first episode, when:

Yeah, Joan Chen all too frequently got "this is the best we can think of"-level writing on this show. It's a damn shame, since she's a good actress, and It's a pity she's wasted playing the Inscrutable Oriental Woman.

In a world where a dead fireman's spirit can inhabit a log that speaks prophecy to his newlywed wife? *Shrug* If it's dumb, it's established dumb.

Been that way for a LONG time. Up until "Lincoln" came out, how many Civil War movies were really told from the Northern perspective, and not from the PoV of the "lost cause" (Gone with the Wind) or an attempt to present both sides, all Fair and Balanced? (Gettysburg)
