And, let's not forget the role your countrymen and almost-mine (I'm from Michigan), played in finally breaking the deadlock of the FIRST world war. There's a reason the last three months are called "Canada's Hundred Days."

SPOILERS CONTINUE! BE YE WARNED!

Yes. Damar is easily one of the triumphs of DS9's storytelling style and long game. I have been eagerly awaiting the time that these reviews reach the point where Zach got to see how interesting and well done the character is. And Zach got his arc exactly right: Bit-part with a couple lines, to Dukat and then

Well, the Germans and Americans were fighting the same kind of war. The Japanese… were fighting by their own set of rules that were wholly alien to American forces. That set of rules basically boiled down to "kill the enemy."

The Pacific is a MUCH harder watch (but you should), because it deals with those elements much more brutally. I'd say that BoB "handles" the cost of war, but The Pacific is all about it. You don't get to know the characters as much, especially at first; they're all a slow burn. I totally get why others emotionally

Is this a Futurama-crossover episode? Because I might actually watch that.

From your lips to God's ears.

Also, let's note that this is a 22% jump between weeks. Hannibal is still on shaky ground of course, but it's a lot more solid than it's been in a month.

And a tourist whose car he stole.

Maybe rooting was the wrong word. I think I said it better with "morbid satisfaction."

Agreed.

No, you are absolutely right. It's just that, with the later Anthony Hopkins movies, and with Dexter and other "anti-heroes," the pendulum had sprung too far in the direction of admiration and esteem. And Fuller allowed Hannibal to gain both of those from us, in measure, in the first season.

I'm sorry if someone else has already posted these thoughts
in the last week, but it took me a while to process and develop my thoughts on how important Beverly Katz was, is, and will be. I’m really going to miss the character, but I’m glad she went out like this, in an event which transforms the franchise.

VIKINGS!

It's… interesting. If at the end of BSG, you can't stand that it's over (as I couldn't), try Caprica. It's also cool to see sooo many actors from other great shows (Trixie from Deadwood; Jason Street from FNL; Spike from Buffy; Atia from Rome). But honestly, it never really became more than interesting for me.

Yes, both were/are great shows, but Hannibal was at least starting with something that was proven ABLE to be great (as it was in Silence of the Lambs, and maybe Red Dragon if you're being somewhat charitable); whereas BSG came from… well, the original Battlestar Galactica.

That reminds me, did I tell you about the time I met Eartha Kitt on an airplane?

If Hannibal were to be pitted against season 2 Community…

It's like A.A. Dowd is giving grade consultation to the music guys now.

Yeah, it was pretty clear that he was right on the edge of throwing up everything he'd ever eaten. Really, that was some great convulsive acting by Hugh. Guess he's had practice in this role, though.
