We just use a Swiffer style wet-jet (Bona brand) mostly, with a real damp mop from Bona every two weeks. Not your exact question, but it has worked for us for years.

You are a super cool sponsor! I agree that some quick-dry nail polishes in cool colors would be great for the 16 year old and possibly the 13 year old. The six year old might like some Lego or Duplo or a little builder kit of some sort?
You are a good person. We all deserve a second chance, and it sounds like you were the one decent person in your circle who offered a talented person his second chance. Good for you!
Yup. In an all day meeting yesterday. Glad for the giant toilet paper rolls in the bathrooms. Pretty uncool.
My thought would be a toy or game for the younger one, some kind of creative-type gift for the middle one (like a nice notebook or stationary and colored pencils), and maybe a mani/pedi kit and cute nail polishes for the 16 year old.
First, you’re doing something awesome by giving someone a second chance.I’ll bet this will be more likely to increase your stature than you think.
The only thing you can do now is stand by your decision. I’m sure he is grateful you gave him this opportunity (and, honestly, good on you for not succumbing to stigmas) and he should hopefully prove to be a valuable asset.
So after a shit-ton of hemming and hawing and legal maneuvering, my abusive ex has agreed to consent to terminating his rights to my daughter so that my wonderful husband can adopt her. He’s going to be flying down here on Thursday (on my dime, ugh) in order to sign the paperwork. I’m also letting him see the kiddo…
Thank you, you too!
I would like to think that I wouldn’t react poorly if I was a customer of a business who did that. I think you’re doing a good thing for a talented, qualified person who is recovering from an illness he’ll be recovering from for the rest of his life. There should be more employers like you.
I wouldn’t think less of someone else if they hired a fully qualified, talented employee who is a recovering addict, even if that employee relapsed. Even if that employee’s relapse caused problems at work and the employee had to be let go. Giving a talented, good person who happens to have a history of addiction a…
Same! I always seem to miss it and last week it was posted late. Plus I always seem to get locked out of my burners. Enjoy your night!!
I have a topical, but kind of dark, funny story:
Can I ask for some help from the ladies in the room? I’ve “adopted” a family for Christmas. (A grandmother raising her three granddaughters, age 16, 13 and 9.)
that’s awesome. good luck, I hope it works out for you. self-employment is my dream.
I take the plunge into self-employment on Monday. I start working on a contract which is roughly equivalent to a full time job. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I might be able to pick up more work once I am comfortable with the responsibilities of my existing contact. That would be good since we just bought…
Hey guys. You are the best.
Anybody got a funny story? I had a rough week and would like to read the funniest story you’ve got. I’ll start off:
I fell down the stairs and broke my ankle. I can’t watch any more tv or my brain will slither out my ears. Send fun things to read on the internet.
For the first time in weeks and weeks, I have not missed the social! I have also, for the first time in a long long time, had a really nice day. I hope you are all as well as can be expected and are keeping warm in this shitty ol’ weather <3
