Top of the list for me (just picking one each from music, film, tv and literature) would probably be Prince, Terrence Malick, The Good Wife, James Joyce. Joyce is kind of a gimme as he is so notoriously difficult to read.

I wouldn't necessarily call it garbage. I mean, it wasn't good but If I was 11 yrs old I'd probably think it was fun… or at least not too long.
Frankly, I had about the same opinion of "The Martian" but at least that should make for a decent film.
I have no idea what could possibly have attracted Spielberg to direct…
