Yay?

You don’t hand the phone over to Samsung. You SELL the phone to Samsung, along with a signed non-disclosure agreement. Negotiation starts at $50K. * **

Another reason why the bland Disney CGI of recent years is so uninspiring - the designs aren’t evocative or imaginative as in the older animation. And yet Pixar have managed it since day 1, so why do all of Disney’s human characters look the same?

But NASA can still bragg about having an awesome track record when it comes to landings: seven successes in eight attempts.

How many times do we have to say it, Mars ain’t the kind of place to raise your kids...

If I received a text that sounded that suspicious I would be concerned about destruction of evidence. Hand it over to samsung, all of a sudden the ID numbers won’t match the next day. At the end of the day, a corporation is concerned with maximizing profits while minimizing losses and protecting the brand. If an

That’s a good point. While this is bad, Samsung makes good products generally and people will forget about this quickly. Obviously it needs to be fixed yesterday though.

“NASA is about to lose its bragging rights as the only space agency to successfully land probes on the Red Planet.”

we should fine them for littering.

I assume it’s already been said in the LOOOONG comments following, but if not: any plaintiff’s lawyer taking this case is doing it on contingency.

This is a fair point.

Don’t think it’s a hoax. What he showed, are signs of HF acid poisoning.

Because the company would have every profit-based reason to only alert him to problems they could not hide. Meaning if it was a health threat beyond fire (such as causing black vomit hours later), they would be highly motivated to cover that up. Especially given that text, but even without it...

Best reason? Because Samsung is could turn around and claim nothing was wrong unless this guy has massive evidence (pictures, videos, etc) showing otherwise.

No way, do not turn it over. If you take this to court this is your evidence. It has already been made quite clear they are trying to cover this up as much as possible without another major recall and further damages to the company. Why give up your only evidence?

All note 7 from providers have a mandatory insurance fee.

If there is potential legal actions that this person wants to take against Samsung, you don’t really want to hand over your only evidence to the people you may shortly be suing.

4 am, no witnesses,

If he’s planning on suing for the trip to the hospital, turning over the phone to Samsung would be dumb.

Because the second you give that phone to Samsung you lose control over your own ability to make sure it gets investigated properly.
