I like to imagine how people would react if gas utilities were new. “Hi, we want to run pipes into your house to bring in fuel gas under pressure. Leaks? Yeah, there’ll be some, but we’ll make it stinky so you’ll hopefully notice. We figure we can keep it down to 200, maybe 300 explosions a year.”
