What is with all the mirroring of previous Jess and Nick scenes? There is something in every scene with Nick and Reagan during the past three episodes at least. Sometimes more than one thing too.

I don't dislike Reagan and I actually thought there was an interesting chemistry between them last week. However, their storyline in this episode felt so contrived and formulaic that it drained any of that chemistry right out. I mean, come on, Nick isn't going to die, or even get mildly ill from the heat. He may be

I agree about the hot girl thing especially for the previous two episodes but I guess unlike in those, in this one she managed to ultimately bring out the good qualities of Nick and Winston instead of the bad, even if was inadvertently done. Nick managed to be both charming, sweet and made a mature decision. Winston

I know. How did he not get that?

No he wasn't considering it at all. Reagan asked the question. He clearly had not thought that through.

Wow this episode was on fire! And, yes, at the same time it brought the bittersweet, and subsequently, the feels. Oh man, so much to say about it.

The episode was definitely designed to make us feel that way.

Nick, and by extension Jake Johnson, is so freaking charming that he has managed to both have chemistry, romantic chemistry even, with Reagan, while at the same time showing us that he has reservations of some sort. It didn't straight up feel wrong like a typical scene like that would feel. So I actually didn't know

Yeah those were all divine.

Yes I was hoping I heard that right!

Pet peeve of mine when they do this with peripheral characters in long running shows. I usually assume they are pandering to those fans who get obsessed over these side characters.

A lot of it for me was the repeating of the messy eating and interrupting numerous times. That's really not New Girl's style. Felt lower quality comedy to me.

I enjoyed Winston tremendously in this but that's about it. And Schmidt was great. I didn't care for the whole roommates decided to lie along with Reagan. I think there could have been something funnier that didn't require them lying just to show that they care about her. Fine line there maybe but it just didn't

Yeah I'm kind of mixed on Donald Sutherland in that one. On the one hand I think he totally nails the personality of Mr. Bennet. On the other, his accent isn't that good and he is just too recognizable or familiar or something. It does take you out of the movie.

Fair point.

I completely agree with you there. It was always the rule, but I have a feeling that it is becoming a losing battle. Technology-wise, considering that it likely needs separate coding added in, I can't see programming folks continuing to do it.

I enjoyed the scene with Craig Robinson where they try to get into a nightclub.

Yeah maybe. That's not really my thing though.

Not in a post-Seth Rogen world. :) Also, I'd take Seth Rogen or Ricky Gervais over Woody Allen any day!

I thought it was The Taming of the Shrew. But yeah.
